This from someone who likes superhero stuff in general. A Peurile sense of humor, peurile cartoons, peurile themes. Unintelligent tripe.
Tries so hard to be funny by using purile and dirty humour that is actually pretty sexist in a machismo kind of way. I presume that one reason this film is so popular just because Deadpool is pansexual, because it's so wonderful and "sexy" in the trendsetting banalities framework of the films like this rather than just being treated like a sexuality like any other. Another reason I hate this film is because it is being touted as though it is edgy and brilliant. Just because, what? There's a load of meaningless gore and sexual references? God, they must live sheltered lives with little juvenile minds. To call this film one big exercise in juvenility would be an insult to young people. Patronising would probably be better.
3.5/4The X-Men universe needed a fun superhero movie... After 6 X-Men movies focused on a hardened Magneto and a deliberate Charles Xavier, Deadpool was the least the franchise could do to keep your attention for another movie. It simultaneously provided Ryan Reynolds with his first good role as a comic-book character.Deadpool is the unlikely hero who'd defy all of the pre-set "hero" stereotypes: He can get the job done, but still chooses to carry himself like a kid. He's a good person at heart, but has an arsenal of R-rated humor to dispense at a moments notice. At the same time, he can present a more mature, dark theme and take himself seriously. What makes Deadpool great is his flexibility as a character. Whenever the movie takes a carefree or silly turn, it doesn't saturate the more intense, emotionally driven sequences (and vice versa). Deadpool truly has a plot, an issue, and a resolution. However, it's not scared to take you on too fun a ride replete with comic-book violence and profanity-laced hilarity.I am thoroughly pleased with Deadpool, as it showed that even the most morally-flexible of us can be a hero in our own right. He doesn't settle for light-hearted or heavy-handed, and he knows how to please the crowds...
