I don't usually watch movies back to back, but having just finished the first movie, my family wanted to jump into the second. The characters are still good, and they do grow somewhat, but the music isn't as catchy as the first movie. I liked some of the other groups from around the world, particularly the German rivals, so that added a bit to the movie. Also fewer laughs than the first, but still pretty solid.

YO why was pitch perfect 2 released?I just watched that film in horror and there's only white voices present throughout the entire film.I know it's Hollywood and it's nothing new but it's just a slap in the face and bad fracking writing, I rather a shitty movie with all white people, just don't bother to include us at all next time. The gay black chick only has lines where she comments on being low key attracted to other girls on the team, (okay that's fine, but we never know anything else about her) and no one ever responds to her flirtations, so what is she just creepy?the Latina girl only talks about possible deportation and explains about horrors she's experienced growing up, but the audience is supposed to laugh at it because of its quick delivery.and when they wrote the character for the Asian girl they decided that she'd be the one who had the quietest speaking voice and no one could ever hear her talk.I'm not even mad because I know this type of film won't go away but I'm just like damn

The sequel disappointed and missed the reason why the first one was so likable. I loved the first one! It was a refreshing musical (sort of) comedy with great characters, an interesting plot and an easy flow. The problem I have with the sequel is that it tried so hard to focus on every character and how they had developed over their college years, AND include new characters which fell flat (Hailee Steinfeld aka Emily). For one, Beca's story arc was that she was planning her future and that didn't exactly involve singing acapella for the rest of her life (unlike Brittany Snow aka Chloe). This really clashed with the main conflict of the film - redeeming their title and winning the main contest. If The main character feels indifferent to the main goal and the actions needed to be taken to achieve that goal, then the audience doesn't have much to root for and look forward to. Yes, Beca didn't like acapella in the first film as well, at First! But as the story progressed, so did her interest in acapella, her character development (from being judgmental towards the girls to becoming caring and loving, and the relationship with Jesse. The sequel just shows that it has become more of a habit than an actual pleasure, and Jesse is almost no where to be found! While we're on the main character, please just stick to the one instead of showcasing the life and struggles of every other. For example, it was unnecessary to follow Emily and her mom, as well as the relationship between Fat Amy and Bumper. Had they'd been toned down or just mentioned instead of showed for a lengthy few minutes it would've been far better. In spite all criticism, I do have to say that it was genuinely funny. The comedic part of this film did not disappoint whatsoever. Das Sound Machine were also interesting to watch, so props to that too.All in all, I believe this movie cannot compare to its prequel and I'm not sure what to expect from the third to follow, but I don't think I'll be buying a ticket to the cinema.

Pitch Perfect 2 is directed by Elizabeth Banks who also produces and stars in this movie where the Bellas(formed by Brittany Snow,Anna Kendricks,Rebel Wilson and co)are hosting a show in front of President Barackk Obama and his wife Michelle when Fat Amy(Wilson)makes a show of the group and they are forced to drop out as they are now suspended and been taken over by a new German group who threatens their career. So the Bellas stumbles across a new girl played by Hailee Steinfield who wanted to audition with the Bellas since her mother(played by Kathy Segel from 8 Simple Rules)used to be a Bella herself and Steinfield wanted to make her mom proud. So will the Bellas win their status back again from the new group?Overall I really enjoyed this movie, the music segments were great, the actors did a good job,Rebel Wilson is litreally the next big thing to come out of this film she's funny entertaining and she always refers to herself as Australian(since she is an Aussie). The rest of the film is very similar to the original one and both films are very good. If you are a fan of Glee then check it out.Be sure to keep an eye out for a cameo by Snopp Dogg and David Cross.
