I enjoyed this survival tale set in a futuristic world & can't believe all the Hate? There's hundreds of TERRIBLE movies out there that get great reviews? So i NEVER listen to all the SHEEP!!! best to watch it for yourself. I personally really enjoyed After Earth yeah some things are not perfect like Will Smith who i love his films, here is very robotic & emotionless & I'm not used to seeing him act like that at all but he was supposed to be that way & very serious so i just went with his character & Jaden smith isn't a great actor but still not absolutely terrible just ok & what i did enjoy was the world After Earth created & the mission Jaden has to do to save his father.A good fun sci-fi Adventure & believe me there's so many horrendous films out there that this is actually a very good one!!!

I am just baffled at why this movie got such horrible reviews. I think Shyamalan is a genius and has such a gift at building suspense and emotion. I thought this movie was amazing! Not only was it visually stunning, but I love the interactions between the father and son. Will Smith did an incredible job. Shyamalan always has deeper meanings and symbolism within his films - and it think of you're looking for quick, cheap entertainment, you're not going to like what he brings to the table. I love the depth to his films. I will say it again - He is a master at building suspense! Loved every minute of this film. Can't say enough about it! Really shocked at all of the negative reviews. I'm starting to think people just don't get him as a director. He's phenomenal!

After Earth is a story about father-son relationship when they are stranded in the earth centuries after humanity left it. The movie is directed by M. Night Shyamalan, and starring the duo father-son celebrity, Will and Jaden Smith. The story follows the journey of Kitai Rage (played by Jaden Smith) as he embarks on a journey to save his father (played by Will Smith) that are stranded in the earth, centuries after humanity abandoned it. Sounds promising? No, it is not. The moment you see the movie on-screen, you know it gonna sucks. The plot is nothing. It have nothing in it. No character development, no worthy interaction between the actors. We just wasted our precious almost 2-hours time to seeing Jaden Smith running, screaming, and crying. The sub-plot doesn't have any conclusion. The dialogue is ridiculous. Nothing good comes from this movie. The acting is not convincing at all. Will Smith fails to deliver his charm to the screen, because simply he has nothing to do in this movie except sitting and talking to his son via radio. Jaden Smith is sucks at it. They even attempted to make their own accent that sounds really ridiculous and just makes this movie even worse. In the end, After Earth is a terrible mess. No, don't waste your time in this movie. Even just go see Jaden's Twitter account if you need some amusement.

If the idea was for Will to usher his son into the acting business, it sure didn't work. Apart from anything else, Will turned his natural charm and charisma way down, so as to not outshine his son too much. No need, even Keanu Reeves is decidedly non-wooden next to anybody in this turkey. I am really amazed that M. Night Shyamalan is still able to find work. He has to take the blame squarely for this embarrassing, steamy turd of a movie. Maybe a lot of bad judgement on Will's part as well. Hopefully the younger Mr. Smith will learn something from this, and choose to do something else with his life. I won't go on and enumerate all the things wrong with the movie; it's already been done here. If you haven't seen it, please don't bother. And hope that Mr. M. Night Shyamalan is finally drummed out of the movie business.
