Mild-mannered Paul Blart has always had huge dreams of becoming a State Trooper. Until then, he patrols the local mall as a security guard. With his closely cropped moustache, personal transporter and gung-ho attitude, only Blart seems to take his job seriously. All that changes when a team of thugs raids the mall and takes hostages. Untrained, unarmed and a super-size target, Blart has to become a real cop to save the day.

Not that funny, but strangely endearing. Kevin James is likeable, even if the premise is ridiculous, the plot is predictable and the supporting cast could have been played by cardboard cut-outs. This ain't no Die Hard.

While this is certainly not cutting edge humor or a great film by any stretch, I still enjoyed it very much and it was perfectly appropriate for my children to watch with me. What I liked is that it showed that good guys can win in the end, even if they are fat & stupid, and even get the girl (even though they probably have no idea what to do with her once they catch her, but that's another movie).Definitely not an award winning film, but it was fun to watch.

Take a likable comic actor hot off the back of a long running TV sitcom and dump him in a film that isn't half as funny as it likes to think it is. Ladies and gentlemen- 'Paul Bart'.The crying shame here is that Kevin James, much like Ray Romano before him, is a likable, funny guy, who deserves to make the leap to the big screen. It's just a case of choosing the right films to take that leap in. 'Ice Age' aside, Romano hasn't made it, Kevin James in contrast has, but not in any films that earn him the credit he deserves. There's some decent slapstick here, some nice verbal bits, but it all feels like a sketch show about a bad mall cop rather than a film.As I said, it's a shame, I like Kevin James. I just think I'll stick to seeing him in 'King of Queens' reruns instead.

It is not a good comedy or a good movie for adults. I thought it was pretty stupid at first and it is. But after some minutes i thought "what the heck i miss this type of movies", its an 90s style family comedy. And if you just don't take it seriously at all, its OK entertainment. The story is nothing new. Its the classic thing about an outcast that has been bullied all his life, will he become the hero and get the girl???? hmmmmmmm. The jokes is nothing new and very often is about fat stuff jokes etc, classic style. And the lines i general are nothing new. And its a late 90s acting style with stupid villains.Kids will laugh and most grown ups will kinda watch it without throwing up or being mad. And maby laugh sometimes. Its a feel good movie.Recommended if you are tired of watching disneychannel stuff with your kids. Or if you want light entertainment.
