A freak accident might just help an everyday garden snail achieve his biggest dream: winning the Indy 500. I haven't seen Turbo since 2013 and my god the film holds well. The voice acting is great, the soundtrack is amazing especially the slow motion sequence with Turbo getting threw a wheel and 'Eye of the Tiger' playing in the background is simply spectacular. The film packs some great comedic moments and dramatic moments too, it's suspenseful during the final minutes of the race and it has great animation and messages for kids such as believing in your dreams and friendship. Not everyone will enjoy 'Turbo' but if you give it a fair and share chance it won't disappoint you also a sequel wouldn't be a bad idea honestly.

At the beginning of the movie "Turbo" Theo the snail is unhappy at the fact he is slow. He and his brother Chet work at the plant ( a tomato garden ). Theo dreams of becoming a racing snail influenced by his idol Guy Gagné the 5 time Indianapolis 500 champ. Turbos obsession with racing has shaped Theo to be recognized as an outsider in the small snail community at the plant. Every work day Theo finds a way to be a constant embarrassment to himself and his older brother Chet. For example, one day at work Theo accidentally allows Big Mama ( a giant tomato ) to roll out of the plant onto the lawn on garden day. A man is mowing the lawn and Theo acts as a hero and attempts to take back the tomato. Theo is nearly killed by the mower but is saved by Chet and the other snails. Theo is embarrassed and decides to leave the plant and his old life behind. He travels to a highway overpass and wishes upon a shooting star but in actuality the "shooting star" was just a plane. The exhaust from the cars forces Theo to fly across the highway to a water levies and land on the hood of a racing car during a race competition. He shoots into the engine where his DNA strands transform and create Theo into a super snail. He passes out and is awakened by crows looking for an afternoon snack. Theo then finds out he has possession of the powers and zooms back to the plant to explain to his brother Chet. Theo then embarks on an incredible journey to achieve the impossible: racing against he best in the Indianapolis 500. This is a story about the ultimate underdog who sets out to show that anything is possible

Turbo - a speed-obsessed snail - dreams of becoming an Indy 500 champion. After he and his brother, Chet (voiced by Paul Giamatti), are fired from their garden jobs, Turbo (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) is involved in a freak accident when he's accidentally sucked into the engine of a street racing car. It's during this he is infused with nitrous oxide - a substance that is able to give super-speed. When he happens upon Tito (voiced by Michael Peña), a mere taco cook who's always on the look-out for the next big thing, he's entered into the world of snail racing. It's here that he meets a hip street-wise snail crew and along with their help and Tito, Turbo's dream of entering the Indy 500 may well become a reality after all.Turbo is a fantastic movie from the studios of DreamWorks Animation, the company that gave us the likes of Shrek and Madagascar. They may not have the reputation of Disney/Pixar, but they have definitely delivered a great film with Turbo. The movie does actually start off pretty slowish, and it gets to a point where you wonder if it will ever really pick up. Thankfully, it does, and it gets much better as it goes on, obviously building up more & more to the big race for the end scenes.Turbo is a bright, colourful, fast-paced movie with excellent animation, especially on Blu-ray with everything being so beautifully crisp & clear. I also loved the soundtrack for the movie as well and the songs used for the different scenes really added to the overall feel for the film. While this may not be one of the funniest animations out there it's still a pretty humorous film and the comedy moments aren't just two or three big moments either. They come in smaller but much more frequent instances and it's these instances that keeps the humour in the film going and ticking along nicely.Overall, Turbo is definitely a great movie to watch and will be enjoyed by adults and kids alike. Very much recommended.

If you're stuck in with Man-Flu & just want an easy going fun loving number that'll make you laugh.. this is the first across the line! The Animation is no where as breath taking as Pixar of course but it's still FULL of vibrant colour & cool effects! The characters & the voice actors fit like a snail's shell! And the story doesn't do anything too clever-dick! They keep it pure, simple, enjoyable & fun.One thing I especially loved about this film is the mixed cultures. It really adds such depth when the characters are your typical white conservative types! ALL the cast members worked overtime to get this off the ground! It does have a more serious moral at heart, but it's never intrusive & the pace of the film is maintained throughout.I was surprised at how enjoyable this film was, & I recommend it for the whole family!
