I'm honestly impressed with how much effort was put in to this film, considering that this is a direct-to-DVD film. I thought the animation was amazing and perfect for what it is. The imagery is nice and the animation is very smooth and great. But that's about it when it comes to perks. And don't get me wrong, I still think this film is very well made. But the story is somewhat the opposite of the first films story, which just seems kind of lazy. Granted, it's not done badly, it's just something that isn't that original. The one thing I dislike most about this film is that the voice of Scamp, while he did a great job, just did not fit whatsoever. It's mind-boggingly distracting and is completely off-putting. I say that because Scamp was supposed to be a Puppy still. Yet, for some strange reason, he has the voice of a grown man, which is something I just can't swallow. All in all, this film isn't really great whatsoever and is something that never had to exist. This film isn't necessarily bad, as I'm sure those who really wanted a Lady and the Tramp sequel would probably enjoy it. But I just feel like the executions were sort of done poorly. But that's just me though. While this film is okay at best, I guess the fluid animation in this film does make it worth the hour and a half.

Lady & The Tramp II Scamps Adventure is a direct to VHS sequel of the most classic dog romantic film of all time Lady & The Tramp. With only a 66 minute running time the film tells the tale of Scamp(Tramp and Lady's son) who wants to be a wild dog as his sick and tired of all the rules his father has given him,and he meets up with these streetwise dogs as a local do catcher is after them and one in particular takes a shine to Scamp(voiced by Scott Wolf)called Angel(voiced by Alyssa Milano from Charmed),and Scamp escapes and follows after her. Scamp later meets the ruler of the Junkyard(voiced by Chazz Palimentiri)who tests Scamp if he wants to be one of them. But Scamp later finds out that his dad was a streetwise dog too before he fell in love with Lady(his mother). So will Scamp choose the junkyard life over his own family?Bottom line this is not a patch on the 1955 original film. With different voice actors(one is Jodi Benson who voices Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Jeff Bennett who is in a lot of animated films having voiced Pip in Enchanted),and some new songs including Family and the same people who voiced Hercules(young Hercules Roger Bart) and Meg(Susan Egan),Lady & The Tramp 2 is a decent straight to VHS film. Not the best but still worth checking out if you are a fan of the original film and love dogs and animal films in general. 5/10 Average but nice.

My review will be shortly and uninspired . Just like the movie I just saw. Unless you're a Disney fanatic skip this one and stick to the original. This movie is not one bit inspired. They even made a copy scene of the famous restaurant scene from the first movie ! Talk about being lazy. The whole story , humor, songs and so-called emotions feel fake and fabricated in five minutes. The new characters including our main hero Scramp are uninteresting and not really likable. Or maybe I should say undeveloped. I know that in animated movies characters aren't really complex , but those characters here are just paper thin and the movie never takes the necessary time to develop them. Compare the love story here to the original one and you will understand what I'm taking about. The only really likable characters here are the ones from the original , but they have too little screen time. The love story and father-son conflict here had some potential , but it was completely wasted. It's just another one of those cash-in sequels to classic movies that Disney likes to make. It's short and forgettable. It's not one of the worst movies ever . It's just weak. I give it 1/10.

My Take: Typically routine and lazy straight to video attempt from Disney. Disney must have fallen in love with the family movie tradition that is the family dog. Many movies have devoted themselves with stories that solely center themselves with man's best friend. Disney themselves have made a handful. They also made a handful of those that are literally dogs. Add this one to that bunch.I haven't seen the original for a very long time, so probably I'm not the right person to judge if this straight-to-video sequel fares any better. Anyone above the age of seven aren't the right people to see it either. Perhaps only the youngest of the young will want to see LADY AND THE TRAMP II: SCAMP'S ADVENTURE, and even they would grow up and say it wasn't the best kind of family entertainment they have ever seen. I guess to be fair, I can say is that it warrants a rental, but that ain't much to say. This sequel pretty much picks up the parts left behind after the original oft-called classic. Lady and Tramp now have a litter of cute Crocker Spaniel pups... and one mischievous mongrel named Scamp who is a chip off the old block. Instead of the confines of home, Scamp wishes to run off with the other junkyard dogs of town, unknown of his dad's own past as one of those mongrels of the streets. To capture the charms of the original, this one throws in the same poor dog/rich dog love story, in vice-versa. Scamp falls for a one of the junkyard dogs named Angel (and who wouldn't with a name like that and a voice that sounds like Alyssa Milano?). Que replay of the famous spaghetti scene! Other than the "cute" factor, there is nothing in store for any audience in this lazy straight-to-video effort. Stick with the original.Rating: ** out of 5.
