It's a Selena Gomez vehicle trying to pump up the young budding star. She's fine with a certain amount of charm that gives the movie a chance. Like the title says, it's another Cinderella story. There's nothing special in the story here. Certainly, there's nothing here that's different from dozens of other Cinderella teen films. While Cinderella is played admirably, the prince Charming role is a stiff wooden block. Drew Seeley doesn't have the charisma. He definitely can't match the importance of the role. Jane Lynch is the evil guardian and an aging pop star. It doesn't fit her. She has the comedic chops but they need to fit the role for her better. She looks nothing like the expected Madonna figure. It makes no sense. The stepsisters are played by the reunited costars from 'Ginger Snaps', Katharine Isabelle and Emily Perkins. There are some good crazy comedic turns from Jane Lynch and Emily Perkins. And Selena Gomez has that sweet charisma. It makes for a watchable wacky teen comedy but nothing more.

one of the worst movies. I simply couldn't watch it, everyone is acting so stupid and naive, I wonder if this suppose to be for audience under 5 years old? And I mean you gotta be under 5 in order to not understand anything what's going on in this movie in order to actually finish it. one of the worst movies. I personally love Salena Gomez! So far, she has done nothing like the "other" Disney Channel stars, and she still keeps her innocence, unlike a certain Disney Channel star that I will not name…but let's just say she thinks she's got the best of both worlds. Anyways, this movie was very good in its own way. It was one of those movies were you just felt good after you watched it. It was great for the entire family! Personally, I've actually seen this movie a dozen times it seems like, but I don't really mind, because I like watching movies multiple times…especially if they make you feel good after watching them, like this one does. Oh, and I love Jane Lynch! She honestly has a dry sense of humor, but she made me laugh so many times in this movie. I have never seen Glee, but I love her style of comedy…I may just have to take a peek. For daily movie reviews visit: http://kimsmoak.com/

I honestly liked the movie. Sure, it's not the best movie out there, but it has a certain charm. The more I watch it, the more I like it. Yes, the plot is predictable, but it is a Cinderella story, so of course the lead boy and the lead girl fall in love and of course the story has a happy ending. Even so, this version had some interesting twists. For example, the "prince" finds his "princess" earlier than most Cinderella spin-offs out there, leaving room to add a bit of what happens after the Disney-happily-ever-after. Also, Mary (princess) isn't a helpless girl waiting around for her mice friends or her fairy godmother to make her dreams come true (and her dream is not just to marry the prince). Mary is a wonderfully talented dancer (fantastically portrayed by the amazing Selena Gomez) who dreams of getting into the Manhattan Dance Academy, but her evil stepmother (hysterically well done by the always wonderful Jane Lynch) won't have that. So, Mary sneaks into the local dance school and takes her "lessons" on the other side of a one way mirror. This movie has wonderful acting, hilarious scenes, great music, and great dancing. If you're looking for something with depth, you're in the wrong genre. However, if you're looking for something that you can watch to relax and give you a good laugh, this is your movie.
