I watched the film " Mary and Max " ,beautiful Australian animation by Adam Elliot, based on a true story. It is about the friendship between a lonely girl in Australia and a lonely man in America. Through many years of friendship that held, writing letters to each other, resolve their psychological problems and situations ,that life bring to them . In the film, I saw a book that I read "I'm OK, you are OK" .Through the film runs a beautiful music , famous songs like Zorba's Dance and Que sera, sera.

A lonely 8 year old girl from Australia, having a life of misery, chooses to send a letter to a 44 year old obese American with anxiety problems, eager to be able to socialize with someone. This way, a very long pen friendship is born that will dramatically change the lives of the two. It's an extensive drama, a story that you can hardly imagine but it's nevertheless inspired from reality. It describes how a simple letter, or succession of them can affect so much a person's life. It's a great movie accompanied by lovely music and a great narrator who's voice will make you feel special. It's sad from the beginning, but the end is the one who carries the most drama. It has some funny moments in contrast with the rest of the plot but unfortunately some boring sequences as well. It will make you think twice about the people you care, about those to whom you've been rude and even about yourself! A superb movie!

This is easily one of the best movies I have ever seen. It has all of the elements of a great film, and it is structured magnificently well. There is laugh out loud humor, fascinating and well developed characters, an intriguing story, a unique visual style, and a heartfelt and emotional message. It explores friendship, life, and love in ways both complex and universal, making it a masterpiece that almost everyone will be bound to enjoy. Everything from the art direction to the voice acting to the musical score is pitch perfect, forming a masterpiece of animation."Mary and Max" is heartwarming, sad, and hilarious all at once as it explores many difficult, emotional themes with such elegance and grace that it will please and amuse as much as it will provoke thought and tears. The two main characters are both extremely likable and well developed, and Max's final letter provides the perfect closure to the message. The very last scene is fitting, disturbing, depressing, hopeful, and beautiful all at once, and it caused tears to fall from my eye sockets like hail. As I am writing this very review I can feel butterflies in my stomach, as I am still feeling the power this masterpiece will have on its viewer.Just go and watch it...

This Aussie animation is one of the best animation made. It has humour, drama and a message. After I watched this I started looking for more films directed by Adam Elliot but unfortunately, he hasn't directed anything else apart from some short films which were funny too.I love dark animation with adult humour and sadly there are not many out there. People do admire it, example is Family Guy but we need variety, different humour and this film delivers that. Hopefully Mr Elliot is working on a new project and there will be another animation to come as this film is far by one of my most favourite animation of all time as it makes you laugh most of the time, makes you cry and most importantly makes you think. Highly recommended !!
