Blackway (2015)
A young woman newly returned to her hometown becomes the subject of harassment by a man named Blackway, an ex-cop turned violent crime lord who operates with impunity in this small community on the edge of the wilderness. Forsaken by the local townspeople—and advised by the Sheriff to leave town—Lillian decides instead to take a stand against her sociopathic stalker, and enlists the help of ex-logger Lester and his laconic young sidekick.

With the names involved we had high hopes for this movie. It was so very awful. It seems they just drive around looking for Black way to be told they shouldn't look for him and they drive around looking for him more until the undramatoc conclusion.
My summary of the plot (see below) should tell you everything you need to know about whether you should waste a couple hours watching this film.Lilian comes back to the small town she grew up in. For some reason she is being harassed by BLACKWAY (dun-dun-duuuuuunnnnnn!). Blackway breaks her car window (gasp!) and kills her cat. Why? We don't know until nearly the end of the movie.Lilian goes to the Sheriff for help. He refuses to do anything because it's BLACKWAY (dun-dun-duuuuuunnnnnn!), and suggests she go to a sawmill and ask for some guy to help. Wait, what? Okay, let's go with it...The guy isn't there, but some old guy (Hopkins) offers to help, and drags along his somewhat slow co-worker.The next hour and a half are spent looking for BLACKWAY (dun-dun-duuuuuunnnnnn!).They go to an old logging site that he supposedly frequents in order to "draw him out," then they kill him.THE END (oh, thank God)
Although Hopkins' character got shot by what looks like a high powered rifle, he did not die, highly unlikely. The fights were not the interminable fights of movies at least. When Liotta gets shot full frontally with a 12 ga. shotgun, he dies. Too many movies drag on dying, one last hurrah, dead guy rises again etc., but this was a realistic kill.Not a lot of plot, but some beautiful NW Pacific forest views, old logging stuff, of interest.
Pure BS from start to not-quite-middle. PLOT ALERT: I didn't watch long enough to spoil it as I don't like wasting my time.When a guy kills your cat, get a gun. When he cuts the head off your cat, get a GUN. He is insane. He is psychotic. GET. A. GUN.This would be a very short movie if not made by a Hollywood intumescent. Get. A. Gun.But no. We have to have a female character say. "No guns please, we're enlightened victims." The last shall be first and whatever the heck else you wanna put in there. Give me a C. A bouncy little C.Hopkins must have grown up very poor. A lot of English actors are like that. Can not turn a movie down. O'Toole was like that. So is Caine.Will I watch the rest and "be fair?" Maybe. I'm curious enough to know how BAD this is gonna be. Yawn.
