With so much crap out there I find myself watching this move again and again.

In the near future, mercenary Toorop (Vin Diesel) is hired by Russian mobster Gorsky (Gérard Depardieu) to smuggle Aurora (Mélanie Thierry) from an isolated convent to New York City in six days. They are joined by her guardian Sister Rebeka (Michelle Yeoh). Noelite High Priestess (Charlotte Rampling) eagerly waits for their arrival. Toorop finds his old friend Finn (Mark Strong) to help smuggle them into America. It's a slightly different dystopia. It holds some promise but director Mathieu Kassovitz lacks the visual confidence to bring it to life. The action is manic without the thrills. The bigger problem is the lack of tension. Despite lots of action, the story is rather bland. I never care about any of the characters or their journey. The three international leads don't have chemistry together. The dialog isn't anything to write home about either. It could use some good jokes and somebody funny to deliver them. Something confusing happens in the second half which loses any chance I have with this movie. This is a waste.

This is an awful movie. It is messed up. The plot is unclear and such good actors are wasted. The visual effects are good actually and the idea would be a lot better in a book or comic than in a movie. As seawalker writes "The presentation of the near future world in "Babylon A.D." is beautifully done. Compare and contrast the difference between the collapsing, grunge-like, shabby Eastern Bloc, with the hi-tech, neon lit New York. Very well put together." This movie has some aspects that does not really fit to the society. Vin Diesel is an excellent actor; although he is the main character and his work is outstanding, it does not help the movie. Compared to some science fiction movies like: Inception, Star Wars or Minority Report. This movie does not stand a chance against these really good movies from the last 20 years. I am also agreeing seawalker in the movie being a mess because throughout editing some important plot parts have been edited and even left out. This is kind of unfair because the movie is only 90 minutes long, and a lot of science fiction movies reach the 120, 150 minutes. Another aspect is explaining some thongs more. Some parts of the movie, as i said before, are unclear and you have not idea of what is happening. This makes the movie kind of repetitive and tedious. I want to thank seawalker for his important review and ask the people to read his review for more important information.

I can honestly say this is the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. Ever. I think one of the first scenes pretty much sums up the whole move- Vin Deisel is sitting in an old car, and to get from point a to point b is lifted up by a magnet hanging from a helicopter, and transported that way, in an old rusty car swinging from a chain suspended from the helicopter. Why doesn't he just GET INTO THE HELICOPTER? I remember thinking. From there it goes steadily downhill. I feel as tho the director was aspiring to be somewhat like M. Night SHayamalamananamanan, as the twists came fast and hard. there were so many in fact that the viewer is left completely unattatched to anything in the story, and completely utterly confused. The black twin at the end pretty much summed it up. How the heck can one twin be black and one be white. And then VInnies final "come inside, kids, there's a storm coming." laughed out loud.
