Cradle 2 the Grave (2003)

This is an interesting short thrilling film of Jet li.Story is about a Taiwan cop and a small time thief who join hands to find extraordinary gems after which many people are, including an international criminal, who has taken the thief's daughter as hostage.The story line is fast paced, action scenes are good, Jet li's karate work is awesome, many of the stunts are well taken. Jet li and DMX are the best actors.But some of the stuff is highly exaggerated, like a helicopter bursting mid air, and a man emerging from that unscathed. also the film has few explicit scenes.Jet li fans will like it.

DMX (Exit Wounds, Romeo Must Die), Anthony Anderson (Exit Wounds, Romeo Must Die), and Tom Arnold (Exit Wounds) join forces together again in a funny vehicle for Jet Li to demonstrate his acting and martial arts ability. These three were last together with Steven Segal in Exit Wounds. They had the gorgeous Eva Mendes with them at that time, but here she was replaced by the equally gorgeous Gabrielle Union.Jet Li was as impressive as ever, especially in the final battle with Mark Dacascos. Gabrielle Union held her own in a fight with Kelly Hu (X-2). Arnold and Anderson provide the humor, as they did before. Li seems to get better and better as an actor to complement his martial arts ability. All-in-all, a great movie.

Hey all you people who have nothing better to do than badmouth other people's work: This movie is awesome right as it is. Who cares about motives anyway? Folks, this is entertainment, and no poetry or whatever. It is funny right from the start, the characters and actors are brilliant, amazing camera work, sound design, music and so on. What in the world is your problem? I am a tolerant person, but I cannot understand you, nor respect your comments. So if you ever happen to shoot your own professional big-budget movie, let the world know and be ready for comments then yourself. It is easy to sit on the couch and criticize the hard work of others. What did you contribute to the film world?

I have to admit that I was a little bit too excited, when I gave this rating. It's just that I really like Jet Lee and the other actors, that I was bit over the top here. A 5 or 6 our of ten would've been more appropriate.Nevertheless, this movie has a few things going for it. The thin plot has to be expected, but not the really good stunt work. It's throughout the movie and that's what is really cool about this movie. It doesn't change lanes, it stays were it starts and keeps going. If you don't like the way it started, then you won't like the rest too. But if you enjoyed the first minutes of this film, then you will have a good time.
