Movie Review: "Lockout" (2011)A near-future science-fiction movie running a fast-paced 85-Minute-editorial coming from executive producer Luc Besson's Eurocorp. production / distribution company for short-lived fairly enjoyable action treats, which just misses a R-rated red bloods-spreading make-over, when young writer and directors gets a shot at Eurocorp. to thread together an original story of rescuing the president's daughter from a convict space station going havoc, but then again not havoc enough, with face-keeping actor Guy Pearce letting completely loose in the leading role as mercenary-like conspired convict Snow, who makes surprisingly entertaining matches with constant-gear-shifting actress Maggie Grace as Emilie, known as abducted daughter from Liam Neeson owned also recommendable "96 Hours" (2008), here for another quick pumping mood visuals in favors in media out-looking action audiences.© 2018 Felix Alexander Dausend (Cinemajesty Entertainments LLC)

Very disappointing for a movie by Luc Besson, but this is a pure action-in-space-save-the-girl kind of crap. And why do you have to put sound effects in space??? There's a vacuum is space!!!The script is just a collection of clichés. The characters are boring and has nothing much to say.Plus they got sued by the directory of "Escape from New York" for copying the plot of the movie and got fined by 450,000 euro...I don't have anything to add, but IMDb forces me to write more line. Lockout (2012): Dir: James Mather, Stephen St. Leger / Cast: Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, Vincent Regan: One can only wish that they were locked out of the theatre and spared the time wasted to view it. The title somewhat symbolizes fact or truth as Guy Pearce plays a former government agent framed for a murder he did not commit. It regards a space station where the most dangerous criminals are kept frozen, and the President's daughter ventures up there to evaluate the program. Due to extreme stupidity that only the biggest of idiots could muster, the criminals get loose and all hell breaks lose leaving little miss V.I.P stranded. The answer is to send Pearce up to get her out. From there it is a lot of blowing criminals up and kicking ass. We know where this is headed and it is all a load of crap. Pearce manages to maintain confidence with a few funny lines during an interrogation, but Maggie Grace as the President's daughter is an absolute joke. First off, she's hot, therefore making us supposedly give a crap. Secondly, she apparently cares for the other hostages but this also comes off as a contrived excuse to make her look good for being White House loyalty. Her best scene arrives when Pearce punches her in the face in an attempt to make her blend in. Peter Stormare and Lennie James are a waste as secret agents. Vincent Regan plays the pitiful leader of the revolt in the prison and he is about as intimidating as a tampon commercial. While the production is fair and action fast paced, the screenplay is such as yawner that the film is deserving of a walk out and a lock out both. Score: 3 ½ / 10

(44%) "Die hard in space", if only. This is an overly busy space B-movie that came an went with little impact owing mainly to the fact that the opening scenes are more or less forgotten about before the closing act even begins. With that said this isn't a bad little movie, Guy Pearce is a fine asset, even if his character is as deep as a puddle after some light rain. And it's entertaining in a non-demanding sort of way. Script wise it's standard stuff, but there's nothing at all that is new or remarkable. If you can watch it for free, and your a fan of sci-fi, then this isn't too bad, but it's really not a must watch.
