This is already the third time or so that I watched "Three" and even if you know about the developments, this film has lost nothing of its atmospheric drama at all. It's written and directed by Stewart Raffill and stars Juan Pablo Di Pace, Kelly Brook and Billy Zane. The latter two were a couple at that point. Zane sure is a lucky bastard. This 10-year-old movie could also have been called Basic Instinct as we witness three people on a deserted island for almost the entire movie. (Yes, Zane shipwrecked again!) They fight for survival, for love and also for power. Who can make it. Which of the two guys is the true alpha male and gets the girl? It's not a perfect film by any means. Some parts I did not like that much, such as the overly dramatic music at the beginning, the voodoo references and also some of the dialogs (perfect ass in heart-shape, so God gave her no heart??? WTF???) Still the positive parts outweighed the negative of course. Kelly Brook is incredibly hot and wears little to nothing for the whole movie. Even three (partially) graphic sex scenes are included. Then there is the rich-vs-poor parallel, which is interesting. And you could raise some questions about moral, for example how one character saves the life of his murderer early on. Or you could discuss the female's final decision. Was it right? Was it smart? What if he gets rescued later on? Will she go to jail. That final shot sure was magnificent though. All in all, I really recommend this movie. i had a great time watching it again and it also has great cinematography as it takes almost entirely on a beautiful island.

A chartered cruise on a luxury yacht turns into a nightmare when it catches fire and a couple barely escapes to a seemingly deserted island. They have to survive the ordeal, but their personalities are not exactly matching. It's a different kind of movie from the standard American movie format. Cruising on a chartered yacht isn't part of the American psyche as much as it is with the Europeans. I'm into boats, so I kind of like this type of movie. The movie is beautifully produced even if the story is somewhat predictable. I watched it without expecting much, but I got more than I expected.Luckily for them, the island has coconut trees, and they have water and food from them as well as fishes and lobsters from the reef.Survival themed programs were popular when this movie was made, and it reminds me of watching Survivor or some other reality show, but the actors were lot better in this movie.I kind of liked this movie, it wasn't as boring as some reviewers have mentioned. It's just a different kind of a story from the usual Hollywood adventure movies. I liked the scenery, and the island little bit made me wish that I was there.

It seemed one of the most unjust movie endings i've encountered. all of them there were cruel, but i guess the least evil is done mostly by jack, whilst the most evil was jennifer. undoubtedly jack was over-paranoid initially, but she brought all his initial paranoia into reality eventually with the persistent influence of manuel; Jennifer and manuel, they stole the boat jack found, brought up and fixed, and then left him to die saying 'i don't care'...whereas right after the boat sunk and she swam back ashore, the first thing she says,"son of a b****, you tried to kill us jack, how could you do that?!"; hahaa, really funny LoL! it seems, even after a year, jennifer is lying comfortable on the beach, while jack is struggling to hunt food for both of them, i.e. jack has been keeping her completely in convenience for a year or so, and she laughed at him on the rescued boat...hahaa; there were many more unfair perception alike. i myself imagined some bit more alternate fair endings, and i found all of those alternate endings funny, just, and deserving..... 3/10 for the unjust viewpoints and ending (and also adding that irrelevant voodoo crap).

Every now and then a small group of actors get together and make an inoffensive, sex filled location film which is really just an excuse for them to have a bit of a holiday and run around in swimsuits. And so in tradition of the Big Bounce, After the Sunset and Into the Blue, comes Three, a paper thin thriller with some completely gratuitous sex scenes and a nonsensical plot.On the plus side, we get 90 minutes making a very compelling case for Kelly Brook winning a high profile poll recently regarding the greatest bikini bodies of all time, and she is truly a sight to behold. The location certainly looks nice, though it is rather hard to believe we are on a deserted remote island. The performances are all what you'd expect, with Zane easily stealing the film from his rather wooden co stars. Brook is no worse than a thousand other actresses you've seen on screen, and while most of the thriller scenes are rather silly, Manuel's fate does pack a punch. The weakness of the story is that we are never really given much of a reason to side with Jennifer. We see her having wild sex with Jack while tied up in the opening 15 minutes, even sounding open to the idea of a threesome and as the movie develops we can't help but think that Jennifer is the exact type of woman who'd go rolling around in the sand on a deserted island with a hot Spaniard, making her husband's paranoia perfectly understandable. But in the end Three does exactly what it says on the label, and will probably help Kelly Brook top best bikini body polls for years to come.
