I don't understand why a company would make a second movie this terribly after their first movie was a success. I began to watch this second movie and immediately noticed the change of voice actors for Milo Thatcher. It isn't hard to miss. He sounds literally 20 years younger and more like a teenager. It was unbearable and I immediately stopped watching the movie. For the actors/actresses that had not been changed, the problem with them was that they sounded bored in this movie. I don't know if they were waiting for the end of the movie or were just sad Michael J. Fox was still missing in action from the first movie, maybe both. The art in Milo's Return also begged for closure. It was terrible. I couldn't even tell if the same actors/actresses were playing the same characters. I am completely satisfied with the ending of the first movie. Milo and Kida end up together and that's all that matters. If you are a movie producer and are reading this, learn from this mistake. Never continue with a sequel if you are gonna change the actors/actresses or are gonna make the art worse than the previous movie.

The drawing/animation quality is much worse than in the original movie. The story feels set up and is not convincing. I mean Atlantis inspires such fantasy and longing and all they could come up with was a return to the "normal" world where they're suddenly *spoiler* fighting some other legendary monsters? Wow, that blows. *end spoiler* Considering the already (in my opinion) moderate original movie it's no wonder why this didn't make it to the cinemas. At least you only have to endure 70 minutes of repetitive events, poor graphics and shameless rip-offs.And now you know why Disney is a multi-billion dollar company...

No, I didn't see the 1st Atlantis movie(Mainly because I heard it wasn't a major success) but I'm sure it was much better than this pathetic excuse for a movie. This "sequel" was just plain awful, the story was boring, and I definitely noticed something weird about Milo's voice. Every time he spoke, I was so confused on whether he was being voiced by either Scott Weinger(voice of Aladdin) or Jason Marsden(who voiced Max in "A Goofy Movie" and Kovu in "The Lion King 2"), it was just kinda annoying. Not to mention I had no idea Milo was originally voiced by Michael J. Fox, who I think is quirky as the voice of Stuart Little. I also had no clue that Disney linked 3 different planned episode stories together, and they had the nerve to call it a movie. The stories in this "film" are really boring, and out of any Disney direct-to-video sequel, this one has the 2nd worst animation(behind "Hunchback of Notre Dame 2"), and just as with every Disney production like this one, It will never recapture the magic and beautiful animation of the original theatrical film. 1/10.

When I put this movie in my DVD player, and sat down with a coke and some chips, I had some expectations. I was hoping that this movie would contain some of the strong-points of the first movie: Awsome animation, good flowing story, excellent voice cast, funny comedy and a kick-ass soundtrack. But, to my disappointment, not any of this is to be found in Atlantis: Milo's Return. Had I read some reviews first, I might not have been so let down. The following paragraph will be directed to those who have seen the first movie, and who enjoyed it primarily for the points mentioned. When the first scene appears, your in for a shock if you just picked Atlantis: Milo's Return from the display-case at your local videoshop (or whatever), and had the expectations I had. The music feels as a bad imitation of the first movie, and the voice cast has been replaced by a not so fitting one. (With the exception of a few characters, like the voice of Sweet). The actual drawings isnt that bad, but the animation in particular is a sad sight. The storyline is also pretty weak, as its more like three episodes of Schooby-Doo than the single adventurous story we got the last time. But dont misunderstand, it's not very good Schooby-Doo episodes. I didnt laugh a single time, although I might have sniggered once or twice. To the audience who haven't seen the first movie, or don't especially care for a similar sequel, here is a fast review of this movie as a stand-alone product: If you liked schooby-doo, you might like this movie. If you didn't, you could still enjoy this movie if you have nothing else to do. And I suspect it might be a good kids movie, but I wouldn't know. It might have been better if Milo's Return had been a three-episode series on a cartoon channel, or on breakfast TV.
