Sinbad is a stunning-looking animation film of a man with a 'heart of gold' that has to make an incredible journey across the sea and has to face many demons along the way to retrieve the Book of Peace in order to save his friend from the past. Overall I think it is an OK film, but there is a lot of confusing during the story and it get very complicated later on. The film starts of with Sinbad, that is about to raid a royal ship that carries an important relic 'the Book of Peace'. However he finds out that the captain of that royal ship is prince Proteus, who is also a dear friend from the past. Then a sea demon shows up send by Eris a Goddess from the Greek mythology(she actually does not really fits in the world of Sinbad since he is from a persian culture, anyway minor complaint) and starts to intervene. Then Sinbad and Proteus defeats the monster together, but last-minute Sinbad fall overboard during the process. Then a meeting is set up by Eris and frankly this where all the confusion starts. You see, Eris wants Sinbad to steal the Book of Peace for her and despite the odd timing this whole meeting makes no sense in the end, because we later see how she steals the Book of Peace all by herself including taking out a royal guard, without the help of a mortal, even though she lives in another world. This means she can intervene in both worlds directly, but the film does not explain anything of that. The film also does not explain how important the Book of Peace really is. All we see is that the sky is growing dark and that is it. In other words: The only reason why we have this conflict in the first place is because Eris plays with her food. We know this, because she can kill the heir of the throne any time she likes, since she also can kill a guard of the royal palace, during the scene where she steals the book. A prince is no difference. However this does not happen. All in all this whole conflict with Eris just isn't that appealing, because she barely tries to win.Another thing that I really find disturbing is the love triangle. As the film goes one, we see how Sinbad gets all the blame for stealing the holy book, which he denies. Therefore the judge of Syracuse sentence him to die, because they found prove, wich is Eris doing. Then suddenly Proteus takes his place in order to proof Sinbad that he is willing to sail across the sea to return the book even though it is a long time ago since they were together. Suprizingly the people of Syracuse try very little to prevent his execution. Proteus's choice simply got approved. It is also very strange to see how light Proteus and the people reacted after Sinbad's return literally seconds away from execution. Anyway Marina manages to get on Sinbad's ship unnoticed in order to make sure he really does sail for the book. Oh, and nobody in Syracuse finds it odd that the fiancé of the prince is missing, just an interesting detail to notice.. At any rate Marina convinces Sinbad to sail for the book with pay ofcourse. As the days are passing by she falls in love with Sinbad and in the end she choses him instead of Proteus even though she barely knows the guy. Sinbad only won her over with a compliment after saving her from a giant icebird. The worst part of this is that Proteus did nothing truly terrible to Marina. What this film tries to tell you is: Where would you rather be, instead of with whom would you rather be. Marina choses Sinbad because she enjoys life more at sea rather than living in a palace, but when it comes to love we all know that should not matter, because you are with the one you love no matter the place. In conclusion, Sinbad is although a stunning experience to witness a illogical mess of a film and that has mainly to do with the confusing plot and because of the unappealing love triangle. The characters are OK, but I can't say there is a lot of development putted in them. A rather dissappointing film by DreamWorks.

Let me just say one thing first, I LOVE this movie! its actually on my top 10 favorite cartoon movies list, and that's a hard list to get on! This movie is perfect, the story is enticing, animation is breathtaking, the characters are extremely likable and memorable, and the music is soul feeding.i have seen this movie with my siblings at least twice every year since we were kids, and let me tell you why. First i am heavily affected by the nostalgia this movie gives me, but i do want to give an honest review. This movie is basically a road trip movie, Sinbad and his crew fight monsters everywhere they go, just like the original Sinbad stories, but the plot delivers a swashbuckling adventure with likable antiheroes, with Sinbad going through physical tests but also tests of character, that feels so relatable. The characters are hilarious, there's like 10 people we see through out the movie, and each one of them catches your attention instantly, Sinbad is a very awesome likable antihero played by Brad Pitt, who is known for those kind of roles, his voice blends perfectly with the cartoon, his crew are all equally funny, special mention goes to the ones named Kale and Rat. But the female lead/love interest named Marina played by Catherine zeta Jones, steals the show, shes an ambassador not a princess, but she is engaged to Sinbad's long lost best friend prince Proteus, at first she seems like a calm and polite woman, but as soon as she gets on the ship she proves to be a feisty, adventurous snarky heroine, who is equally as bad ass as Sinbad. And the best character is Eris, the goddess of chaos played by Michelle piferer, probably one of the most sexy animated women ever, and one of the best villains I've ever seen, basically she wants to see the world burn. The animation is very amazing, the characters are traditional 2d, but they fight against 3d monsters, which look a little outdated, but still awesome, the backgrounds are marvelous, sometimes you just want to pause to look at them. And probably what makes this movie so epic is the music, it just captures you in the moment and makes you feel all sorts of emotions, especially at the end. My sisters, and i guess i do too, love Sinbad and marinas romance, despite it being a week or 2, like a Disney couple, it feels far more natural, its obvious from the get go, that Sinbad, secretly likes marina but he hides it with a funny sexist, macho attitude, you definitely feel the sexual tension when they argue or when their working together, their dialogue together is very mature and realistic, and when they finally say I love you, it is heart wrenching, and when they finally kiss you are flooded with emotions, at least that's what my sisters and my girlfriend tell me. But whats most interesting about their relationship, its complex, marina is already engaged to a really nice prince who also loves her, but its not technically a love triangle, since hes stuck in prison the whole movie, so you don't know if you can agree with it, in fact Sinbad actually says he left his friend because he was jealous of him getting marina, and didn't want to cause a love triangle. And during the voyage he tries really hard not to give into his feelings, because his friend is waiting for marina to return. Even the villain tells him how wrong that is, and how that makes him a bad guy, I've never seen anything like this in any other kids film. But when marina admits she loves Sinbad, you feel happy for them like their love is real. When marina does return, Proteus gives them both his blessing and is not bitter in any way. And let me just say when Proteus is about to be executed, the tension increases, luckily Sinbad returns, despite everyone even the audience doubting he would, throughout the movie he is constantly asked, " is he a thief or a hero, and will he accept responsibility for his crimes and die for it", amazingly he does, and then in the most heart wrenching scene, he prepares himself to die, saying goodbye to marina and his friends, looks at the ocean one last time, as their about to cut off his head! but the execution is stopped at the last sweat dropping second by the villain.I just cant shut up! Lets just end this with, this movie is very underrated and deserves more attention. The action and music is awesome, the romance and drama is mature and emotional, the animation is breathtaking, and it has a strong moral message throughout. I love how both the male lead and female lead are equally bad ass, and i think the voice acting is better than most Disney films. Truly a masterpiece by dream works, that deserves your attention and viewing.

The sailor of legend is framed by the goddess Eris for the theft of the Book of Peace, and must travel to her realm at the end of the world to retrieve it and save the life of his childhood friend Prince Proteus. Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas is a film that i have seen a lot of times in the Past since i was a kid myself but i never actually got the chance to review it until now and let me tell ya i'm surprised by the cast that actually gave their voices to this characters because i saw the film translated and not with the English language so hearing that Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joseph Fiennes and Michelle Pfeiffer are in the movie got me by a big surprise but i'm not surprised in there. Sinbad is a hot head of his own and Pitt has played roles like that in The Mexican for example, Marina is a brave woman that will do everything to save Sinbad, his men and Proteus just like Catherine Zeta-Jones did in Zorro and of course Pfeiffer has played similar roles like that in Stardust and Batman Returns so it does suit her well. The animation is beautiful, the adventure is superb and the action is terrific and eye popping and both kids and their parents will definitely enjoy the film.

Sinbad Legend Of The Seven Seas is a 2003 animated movie from Dreamworks Animation and tells the tale of the swashbuckling thief Sinbad(voiced by Brad Pitt who I swear looks like Eugene Fitzherbert from Tangled)who is framed for stealing the book of piece, but Arias(voiced by Michelle Phieffer)pretended to be him so that he can be framed for doing it. Of course Sinbad's buddy (voiced by Joseph Fiennes) knows that Sinbad will never steal the book of piece so he decides to free Sinbad so that he can get the book of piece off Arias. Problems arises however when Sinbad falls for his buddies fiancé named Mariana(voiced by Catherine Zeta Jones) who joins Sinbad on his quest to find the book of piece.Overall I found this film entertaining, its got great animation, the voice cast was good even though you know its an actor behind a microphone but still all animated movies have well known actors in them from Eddie Murphy to Ben Stiller etc. The story is nice too and the backgrounds look great. The film is like a cartoon version of Pirates of the Caribbean and the charcther design for Sinbad is like a carbon copy of Eugene Fitzherbert from Tangled despite the fact Sinbad was made in 2003 while Tangled was released in 2010. Yeah I mention Tangled a lot in my reviews apologizes for that but hey if you are looking for a fun swashbuckling adventure movie with great action and charcthers Sinbad Legend Of The Seven Seas isn't a bad movie to watch check it out and see what you think of it.
