I noticed a comment here stating "this is no Kung Fu Panda 2" with the great FX, they then realised after 30 minutes that this movie needs no such action rather than FX. I hope that person will now watch more European Cinema as this is the standard and in animation it was a great effort especially considering the score was written and sung by one very talented person.A movie to enjoy with your children and a movie to watch with a glass of wine with your significant other at age 52 or 7 or 99, the music/melody is sublime and I have ordered the DVD and the CD to play at dinner parties. It is classical French theatre and the music/lyricist is a genius. You will also note that the movie adds a hat tipping to a very French classic which I will not say to spoil the movie. It also teaches us about people that may look different but are the same and can add to any culture.Especially for those parents that worry about what can only be said to be money churning action animation and movies, this will start to introduce them to world culture. I give it a 10 as it is animation and no actors to examine and the composition is fantastic.

Great animation isn't the reserve of Dreamworks and Pixar though sometimes you need to look a little harder to find it. In any event both studies are apt to forget that the animation should be built round a great storyline. I had no expectations of this movie as it hadn't been hyped but if the starting point was high expectations it would not have disappointed. A movie with great charm and warmth that kept the whole family entertained, even the soundtrack was a cut above; Vanessa Paradis reminding us that she's a great singer as well as an actress. Upbeat songs like 'La Seine and I' and 'Just a little kiss' add to the feel good nature of the movie.

I saw this with my daughters (4 and 8 yrs)and I must admit it had enchanted us. The story, the characters and the music. This is one of those movies which is enjoyable for kids and adults also. In some way we liked it more than most of Pixar's and other big studio's movies. It's innocent, lovable and got that french feeling. There are some things that could have been done better, but it's not annoying while you watch the movie. The music is really catchy and not the kind of "sing anywhere, anytime without any reason". Now my daughters can't stop listening the songs and they want to learn both English and french versions:)

It's 1910 Paris, a bungling delivery man and his friend create a monster accidentally from a flea, but the over-sized flea has talent for music which is as famous as his unjust monster reputation.Monster in Paris takes a lot of chances with the narrative and pacing that larger studios wouldn't attempt. The computer animation is excellently done, cute and stylistic. Vanessa Paradis is note worthy bringing Lucille to life wonderfully. It's darker parts are reminiscent of Tim Burton's outings, that said, it's fresh Parisian fun, with catchy songs, and a witty script to match. It's slightly off beat and doesn't dot all the i's and cross the t's story wise but this is what makes it so appealing.
