First of all, this movie leaves a sweet message about the friendship and how tho different worlds collides. Its not the typical teenage movie from Disney that we are used to watch, It have a new direction. The idea about that one of the main characters talk in Spanish and show different cultures it's so catchy. The relationship that the characters of Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato play are so unique. This relation shows how two lives can be similar in some way. Selena take the place of a ordinary girl that have a agent dad that helped Demi from the government problem that was in her country. Demi have to learned how to live a typical life in United States because she is from an Spanish country. This movie have a little bit of everything, friendship, love, government issues, and moments that happened in everybody's life ( like high school's election for princess of the prom) The characters have a great chemistry and it seems like that they have a great time during the filming period of the movie. Also the music plays a very important part in the movie. The voices of Selena and Demi are in all the movie, and it makes the film so much better. In conclusion, if you want to see a funny and sweet movie this is your chance. Don't hear the bad critics about this movie just because it is a movie of Disney. You are going to spend a great time watching it.

Once upon a time an aging second plus childhood type purchased Wizards Of Waverly Place, The Movie, and soon felt it sensible to stay well away from anything involving those three brats. But hints in bits of some episodes of the series, not the movie, made the aging one reconsider.Apologies for the word 'brats'. The movie of that name, that I found to be okay. This has the fem brat of WoWP,T Movie. But it is actually not so much brat as an okay and fairly sensitive story. There is also a fem lead of Camp Rock 2 in this and while she does a weak imitation of Robot Buffy, something that Gellar acted really well at around the age of early twenties, she is oh so much nicer in this than in Camp Rock 2.When I was considering purchasing this I mostly looked at the Amazon UK reviews that mention it as loved by kids, less so by the parents who actually purchased it. On that basis this appeared to get glowing reviews. I found that aging second plus childhood type could really get to like this movie.Further, from an armchair tourism angle. The feature is listed as being filmed in the Caribbean, mostly masquerading as USA, Louisiana.

As a father, I'm subjected to all kinds of fare, which I realize is not meant for my age demographic. That being said, I try to watch material with an open, yet subjective eye and find the redeeming quality in it.Sadly, the storyline wasn't original and the producers opted to use the recycled formulaic 'fish-out-of-water' plot, ie. girl from (insert nationality, Atlantis, background, culture here) and the difficulties and (although not found here) funny situations they encounter trying to 'blend-in' in a different society. Some movies (Splash and Pretty Woman) did a fairly reasonable job of conveying this successfully.Basically, a princess from make-believe island nation is rescued after a deviant, power-hungry general attempts to overthrow the government before she can become it's future queen. She's swept away to Louisiana and hidden, making an attempt to disguise herself as a typical teenager. Of course, she has a difficult time adapting and letting go of her royal ways... yada yada yada...My nine year-old loves to watch 'The Wizards of Waverly Place' with Selena Gomez, so this movie was a natural choice to rent. We've all had shows we watched growing up and 'Wizards' is innocent enough and actually isn't as insulting to the I.Q. as some of the things I used to watch as a kid. Anyway, aside from the forced 'comedic' situations and unoriginal story, the fact that Princess Rosalinda's (portrayed ineptly by Demi Lovato) accent kept fading in and out was and added distraction. In the end, I had the feeling that this uninspiring project was thrown together quickly to cash-in on the tween set's love for Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. I suppose Hollywood's (and Disney's) need to make a quick buck has been in existence ever since the dawn of children's programming, I just wish that every so often they'd put more effort into the assembly line fodder they churn out since in the end, parents are the ones having to pay the ultimate price.I gave it (2) stars because my daughter liked it.

Perhaps I'm too old to like this movie. After watching I felt I should have got more. Most of the comedic scenes were unbelievable, and themes all girls being princesses is a little old and timeworn. Little kids get something out of this? I guess. Is it just me or have I seen this movie before? There were some positives though. The relations between the parents and the daughters were refreshingly sane. Selena's was grounded man and not a caricature, the relationship between Demi and her mom seemed passionate, although most of the passion was on Demi's side. Perhaps because this is a kid's movie the villain of the piece seemed ridiculous and unbelievable. The relationship between Selena and Demi seemed strained, like being best friends in real life hampered being at odds ends in the beginning of the movie. If this were a writing assignment I think I would give it back and say it needs more work.
