From the preposterous plot to the bland acting, this was not an enjoyable film. Its just not believable that anyone would fork out $6,000 for a date for a wedding!! Debra Messing is still in Grace mode from Will & Grace: utterly annoying and not convincing at all. The film follows the same recipe as most other comedy dramas, only much worse. It is boringly predictable. Its not funny. Its not convincing. Its not sexy. Its not romantic. I wouldn't have missed it if i haven't seen it. There's just nothing special about this film. What did I enjoy about it? Uhmmm...the music and Dermot's body.

This movie is so light weight it fails to be interesting. At best, and that's a long shot, it is a chick flick. Much of the plot isn't believable which should be okay for a comedy but the trouble is this isn't funny so it's not a comedy. It is billed as a comedy but I didn't laugh once.Nick Mercer is a dull character throughout the whole movie. The amount Kat paid for a weekend with Nick was ridiculous. I'll be sure to watch out for director Paul Weiland in future movies so I won't wast the time watching them.Cinematography is good, which is the best thing I can say about the movie.Sorry for those who liked this movie. It's just my opinion.

The biggest problem with this predictable chick flick is the horrible miscasting of the female lead. NOBODY is going to believe a story with Messing as the femme fatale that is going to make the gigolo give up his career. While she has comic talents, she unfortunately has the body of an anorexic 12-year-old. This simply isn't a role she is able to pull off.The rest of the cast seemed to be able to pull off their shallowly-defined roles, but I don't know if they kept it up through the whole film as I was unable to endure the torture and bailed after the first hour.

In my opinion, the movie could have been so much more. I wonder if the jacket was written by someone who watched the movie before the editor finished slicing and dicing. Many of the deleted scenes should have been left in. Other scenes would have made more sense (Amy asking Nick if he told her for instance) and the humor the jacket spoke of, would have been much more apparent. At several points we were left wondering where a scene was going only to have it cut away without resolution. Other times, it was as if some crucial lead-in had been left out.The story might be a bit cliché but the writing was passable and the acting and characters were believable enough. The settings, cinematography lighting etc, were great and I like the actors. However, none of this was enough to elevate this movie out of mediocrity.I would have a DVD for sale but then I'd be guilty of criminal behavior, if not as bad as the one those responsible for the way this film turned out perpetrated. The editing crew appear to be guilty of felony film vandalism.
