Fifteen minutes into the film Skylar (Alexa PenaVega) proclaims, "Biblical end of the world" and still couldn't find the rapture in the Bible. Of course people who claim it is aliens are laughed at by those who credit God with the situation. Much of the action takes place in a church. The director/writer/editors were savvy enough to know a long church scene would get boring so they toss in newscast showing the situation at various locations. The film also comes across as sci-fi horror with creatures in the mist. This made the film far more entertaining than that Nicolas Cage disaster film. While the planes dropping from the sky in this film weren't as well done in "Left Behind" you were able to emotionally experience the event better. I personally liked the library girl of all the characters. Now there were some issues I had. Why is it that so many people from the "Free Love" generation get "taken?" We also discover one had to have a personal relationship with Jesus to get raptured, yet kids and new born babies are part of this also. I know the Catholic Church created "Limbo" to account for where unbaptized babies would go when they died. They weren't in heaven, but didn't know they weren't in heaven. But then the church did away with Limbo, and now I don't know what happens to unbaptized babies which would most likely be in the same situation as kids before "the age of accountability" would go should (or when) there is a rapture. Now in the Catholic church's defense, they are not as big into that end times stuff as they are baptizing heathen babies in the third world. However, I am glad to see the Apocalyptic Christians have this all worked out and are not as messed up as those of us who have dabbled in Catholicism.8 stars for people of faith.Guide: No F-bombs, sex, or nudity. Italia Ricci displays cleavage!

Now for you people criticizing the movie for being a Christian or "religious" film that's not the movies fault! is yours for not doing your research !!!!!!!! ,and for the movie ehhh me personality i think if you are going to make a film about the rapture then you should try ,and make it a little more accurate . its OK to watch it if you want a small glimpse of what the rapture may be ,but i think you should just read your bible :) "its more credible " & god bless you if you read this !

This is a unique and new take on the apocalypse. So often have certain scenarios (e.g. alien invasion) been recycled... this biblical perspective is super interesting! The movie has a solid narrative, decent actors, exciting scenes, good music, and a captivating ending. The camera is a bit too shaky and the camera scenes are annoying (as they are used too excessively).I also want to mention that I don't like how other reviewers give a low rating because it takes a Christian perspective. In my eyes, these reviewers are narrow minded - they don't seem to enjoy taking different perspectives. It's sad to see how many such people are out there.

Very cool movie, perfect for people that like stuff like FINAL: THE RAPTURE and Thief in the Night, movies that I personally love. I find the overall atmosphere endearing at first and tense at the right times. If you are not a born again Christian, if you are a atheist or if you hate God, you are going to hate this movie. For the rest, enjoy it, it is a very well made End of Times horror Christian movie, if such thing is possible =) But yes, Thief in the Night had some horror elements, much scarier than real horror movies really, cause it relies more on tense and serious subjects than on blood. This movie is certainly way edgier than the old Thief in the Night series, and yes, the soundtrack is not Christian at all. But if you want a apocalyptic fix, look no further. If you do not hate God with all your heart, you will probably enjoy this very much =)
