I was expecting a horror movie by the preview I read, but was pleasantly surprised that it was a survival tale. The whole cast of adventurers was very good, but Radcliffe blew me away with a range that floored me. I am not a Harry Potter fan, and didn't have much respect for him as an actor, but he changed my mind decisively with this effort. The bonus is that the movie is also asthetically gorgeous. Soaring mountain scapes shrouded in wifts of clouds, churning rapids, secluded jungles and beautiful shots of the native peoples of Bolivia pepper the movie at an almost frantic pace at times. It almost calls to the movie "Alive"'s spirit of brotherhood and desperate desire to survive. Bravo.

This is one of the worst films I have watched. If there was no real life story attached to it I would have rate this more lower. I just simply say just go and watch "Cast Away'. It is a very similar story but look at the way the story was building in Cast Away., I must say you can see the two different acting leagues Tom Hanks and Daniel Radcliffe are in as well. Here the story was too predictable and acting was also not very exciting to keep the viewers taste bud tingling. Hence they will happily skip some part and watch it again without any hesitancy. Every move, every action is predictable and viewers have seen thousands of this kinda genre movies. So if its predictable as this is, there is no interest in viewers to engage with the film as they already have had the taste before from some other movie. So you need to spice up the film with so much unexpected events and cinematography. Nothing is there in the this film. Daniel radcliffe might have make the film bit more interesting if his solo moments of acting was made brilliant. But apparently its no where near the limit of capturing the entire attention of a wavered mind.

From the moment Jungle begins it doesn't let you go and even when you've finished it it comes back and haunts you because you can't believe this actually happened. It's a very inspiring story about a group of naive young men and the psychological impact of the experience on Radcliffe's character is emotional and scary whilst affecting. The scenery is breathtaking, the story - true. Radcliffe's acting talents shine through and he is unrecognizable in this role. A brilliant film and story of survival that should not be missed.
