With the impeccable actors like Manoj Bajpayee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui this goes far to teach the Indian cinema a new way of movie making. The fighting scenes and encounters were realistic. From the historical angle of smuggling during British to the mafia raaj of present this brings many true images of the region, Wasseypur and poor condition of law and order prevailing therein. A rivalry of two families the Qureshi (butchers) and others takes many forms as the politics is involved and selfish interests are allowed to enter. The livelihood challenges are inherently made to shoot. The making of a mafia and the reasons for poor condition is more of economical than social. No one could have played 'Sardar Khan' better than Manoj. His humour and sexy attitude though seems unethical shows the true picture. The cinematography and direction are also commendable. Songs are sexy and enjoyable and at the same time contextual. The movie ends with a thread link for the sequel. On a shorter note this movie is much comparable to the Godfather series that revolves on the dirty games played on familial rivalries.

I can see it every Day .. love the movie The key to this is the way Kashyap builds his overall story out of the accumulation of smaller stories. An entire life can be extrapolated from almost every character who appears over the course of the film, and several of them could easily have entire movies in which their storyline is the center. Yet at no point is there an issue of diffuse focus, or of misplaced importance. The performances, across the board, are magnificent, with special credit to be paid to Khan family matriarch Richa Chaddha, and her second son (and star of the second part of the film) played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, whose work and character arc in "Gangs of Wasseypur" defy superlative. Everything is exactly as it should be, storywise, and the total is an astonishing feat, worthy of discussion alongside Coppola's first two "Godfather" films, or Leone's "Once Upon a Time in America."

This movie is a master piece of India Cinema. I have seen this movie at least 5 times now and it get me every time. The originality, dialogues, direction are on spot. The casting selection and the level of acting in benchmark. The movie separates it from other generic gang violence movies. This is a must watch.

It is not often that movies are compared to The Godfather. Even if they are, they stand nowhere in reality. But this movie here, not only competes with, but also manages to establish itself right there. This is Atom vs Zeus from Real Steel. The direction and acting performances are commendable. Everything about the movie is realistic. It is so honest that it scares you.Not going to spoil this movie at all, The main plot is that of a war between two class of families that lasts over seven decades. This movie is split over two parts, due to the long running time. But it captures you from the very beginning and keeps you hooked till the end credits in the second half.I loved every bit of it and recommend all action lovers to watch this. A 10/10
