Wesley is fairly good in this, even though the film is weak. But I didn't care for this one being weak I just wanted a fun heist movie. The film doesn't offer much but does have enough action and double-crosses to keep you entertained. Wesley plays John Tuliver a professional thief on his latest score that goes wrong.I remember seeing this back in 2009 that I ordered from the library so it's been a while, but I also remember seeing this with a buddy first, because he had a copy of it back in, I think 2006 when this was a new release LOL.Overall a fun heist b-movie that I enjoyed, I guess I could consider this a guilty pleasure I really liked the quirkiness of it all, it was fun.I give it a 4/10. See it if you don't care for quirky characters, a weak plot or silly light halfheartedness.

So boring, bland, embarrassingly awful, under-whelming and badly acted was '7 seconds', that I happily dozed off halfway through with not one whit of guilt (I usually like to see a film through to the bitter end before pronouncing such a damning indictment). The only cast member with any acting ability was Wesley Snipes and even he appeared lacklustre and weary in this miserably concocted heist 'thriller' (I use the word in the loosest sense of the meaning). Set in Romania, no visual attention was paid to any of its natural and cultural assets, history, art or scenic beauty; we were only 'treated' to scenes of the inner city of some drab, faceless, 'Eastern European' country filled with dull, clichéd characters lacking any iota of personality. The one-dimensional plot dragged along like a month of wet Sundays as one set of gangsters chased another set of gangsters who had (yawn) accidentally stolen an expensive painting from an armoured 'brinks' vehicle - that's about all I remember (or care to remember) of it and it would be a waste of your and my time in saying much more about this ill-conceived plot. The few attempts at humour were wincingly painful, the visuals dull and colourless, and the acting cringe-making. I do hope the script writer and director (Simon Fellows) are now in hiding and have made a written promise (in their own blood) never to subject the public to another of their ill-fated attempts at film making - and I do hope Wesley Snipes has recovered from the ignominy of appearing in such a bunch of drivel. Unless you're an insomniac looking for a cure for your sleeplessness, DON'T watch this movie!

Story - Jack Tulliver (Snipes) and his criminal crew have just pulled of a massive heist on an armoured car. They get ambushed by a group of Romanians after they are tipped off by one of his crew. Tulliver escapes whilst the rest of his team are killed. On his escape Tulliver hijacks the car of Sgt Kelly Anders (Outhwaite) and he makes his getaway. On this journey Anders is made aware of possible corruption and can no longer trust her colleagues in the army. The chase is on to get the merchandise out of the country......My verdict - An interestingly boring film. It has action, well little of it and when it happens its very slow paced. The car chases are pretty dire, I think a load of grannies on mobility scooters could do a better job. Wesley Snipes portrays his character very well and a good performance form Tamzin Outhwaite were about the only pluses I could find. The story line was mediocre and could have done with a bit, i mean a lot of tweaking to get it to the standard it really should of been. Directed by Simon Fellows who I have actually never heard of, and he has only done around three more films since this one. I wonder why.

I have no idea why so many want to bash this film.....because it's Wesley Snipes? Because it's straight-to-DVD? This movie "7 Seconds" isn't that bad.....it's got some decent one-liner dialog, and some good thrills and some rad car chases.Since his trademark series "Blade" came to a close in 2004, Wesley has been really almost hitting rock bottom since then. He's been getting the same fate as Seagal and Van Damme only because no on likes martial arts anymore.....so sad. Its actually even more enjoyable to watch than seeing Rambo pick up a rocket launcher or firing those bomb arrows. And even more than Arnie getting his hands on a freaking machine gun and saying "I'll be Back" in a dramatic fashion. Martial arts is more worth watching because it's something that can be done and its a practice. So Snipes, Seagal and Van Damme seem like they would rather allow their careers to tank than give up their martial arts skills, and i praise all of them for that.Even though the starting scene might be a rip-off from the one in "Heat" (and yeah, they even take the hockey masks, lol), and the flashbacks are shown a little bit too much, but i guess its for a reason, to show who the characters are talking about, i guess. And also, Alexsie, that Russian gangster guy with Cerebral Palsy, is also a pretty interesting character, cause the actor does a good job of getting into him, and boy, was he INSANE.So come on, people....just give it a chance and give Wesley some of that recognition he deserves back. 'cause he doesn't deserve to be in this position.....
