DC is very very good at making complete stories like this in 70-90 minutes. The story in this case might be pretty simple, but the action makes up for it. There isn't complex themes, challenging material, or anything special like that, "SubZero" is just a straight-forward action Batman movie. Once again the writers made Freeze not only menacing, but also relatable. I felt sorry for him and his wife, even though he kidnapped and was planning to kill Barbara. The CGI might look pretty weird, but I imagine they added it to try and give the movie a sort of 3D feel. Plus, it's late-90s CGI on a straight-to-DVD movie, I can tolerate it. The other thing is the ending, I'm guessing this is just a side story and not canon, but if Nora is healthy again, then does that mean Freeze isn't evil anymore? I'm guessing so, but everything about the movie connects with "The Animated Series" aside from that, so it comes off as a little random that she would get better to me. Sure, it's not the best animated Batman movie, and it's not the most original animated Batman movie. But it's very entertaining, and that's enough for me at the end of the day.

Mr. Freeze's wife needs an organ transplant and Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl, is the only acceptable blood match. So Freeze kidnaps her while she's on a date with Dick Grayson, aka Robin. Batman and Robin race against time to rescue Barbara before it's too late. Very good animated movie that's miles better than Joel Schumacher's craptacular movie that also featured Mr. Freeze and Batgirl, released not long before this. What might surprise some is that Batman is largely absent from the first half of this. It still works, though, due to the great characterizations and writing. Although this is nowhere near as strong as the award-winning "Heart of Ice" episode of Batman: The Animated Series. That episode was the best Mr. Freeze story ever told in any form of media. This is still a very enjoyable movie, hampered slightly by some sloppy animation. The story does feel like it could have been a two-part episode of the TV series but since the series was excellent I fail to see how that's a negative.

Batman is my favorite Comic Book Hero and my favorite villain of Batman is Mr.Freeze.The reason why Batman is my favorite is because he is dark yet a hero to many and that he is always in mystery. Mr.Freeze is my favorite villain from Batman because he is just a man who just been trying to help his wife get better and yet he is turn into a monster. This is why Batman The Animated Series was just a bad to the bone series. This is one of the few movies they made for the series. In Batman and Mr.Freeze Sub-Zero Victor Freeze is trying to live in peace in the snow where he and his wife Nora could be together away from the world. Until a accident cause Nora's tube to be damage leaving her need help.Mr.Freeze then kidnaps Barbara Gordon who is really Batgirl. He needs her to save Nora's life.Batman and Robin must track down Mr.Freeze and save Barbara before it is too lateThe movie was made for home video but still a great movie. The Story is so well thought out and a lot of great twist and turns. The Voice is brilliant as always because Batman The Animated Series voice acting is awesome strong. The Animation is a great mix of CGI and hand drawn animation and they work well together. So overall Batman and Mr.Freeze Subzero is one of my favorite movies from Batman and the comic book world and should be watch by all fans.I give Batman and Mr.Freeze Subzero an 9 out of 10 great movie check it out

This doesn't necessarily put Subzero, a straight-to-video release about Mr. Freeze's ongoing attempts to resurrect his wife, into the pantheon of great Batman animated movies. When comparing to Mask of the Phantasm or even Batman/Superman, it's nowhere near as ambitious. It's actually kind of run-of-the-mill in its storytelling, with some solid peril as Batman and Robin try and crack the mystery behind Batgirl/Barbara Bordon's kidnapping, but some lackluster animation. When the filmmakers try to inject some computer animation into some sequences, like with some of the chase scenes or the ones up in the arctic, they completely fall flat. And the romantic entangling we see Dick Grayson and Barara get into is weak as well. Only when the animators stick to what works best on the TV series, and when we get a few moments of pure Batman action, does the movie strike any decent ground. It's maybe worth seeing once, mostly if you're big into Batman or the series (hey, who can resist Kevin Conroy voicing Batman?), but its appeal isn't one for repeat viewings, save if you're really young and don't care either way.
