Edmond (2006)

SOME MINOR SPOILERS - This movie is definitely not for everyone. It depicts a man suffering from the worst kind of mid life crisis and finding himself completely immersed in the seedy underbelly of New York. Solid acting performances from the cast overall deliver an interesting movie which is a mixture of slight horror, drama and very black comedy.

Don't be fooled by the A-list cast, writer and director. This is probably the most disgusting, degrading and pointless movie made in the last 10 years. It is vicious, inflammatory and totally lacking in any worth whatsoever. Bill Macy must have been pretty desperate financially to participate in this ugly and hateful mess. I will never look at him the same way again. Judging by this syphilitic pus-bomb masquerading as a film, David Mamet needs to have his head examined. If you want the same effect as watching this turd, go plunge your head into a backed-up toilet. You'll have the same experience and, hey, you'll save yourself two hours.

That of a man, who did nothing but sex, leaving her daily life ... Or it would not be in its place.William.H.Macy, is perfect in the role of the man "Edmond", which also gives her name under the film, which during that hot night will live in a world ... Or is simply not actually its place.Night that will change as soon as the transition from the seer, one thing is Edmond is a feeble-minded, weak, and the desire for sex and sex itself will harden (Not bad, as a metaphor for sex always cure a man), harden, but especially so to make him lose his reason become too hard. The film, dealing primarily a weak-minded, non self-confidence, a man will acquire the price of his freedom.And if this night is exciting, as soon as it ends, and the box shows its face prison, it becomes at once much less exciting For me, without laying a "happy ending", the film should have stayed on the concept that is, a man who discovers the world of the night world is not for him. Otherwise, it should be noted very good supporting role, and everyone does his or skit show.Joe Mantegna, and his little conversation with William.H.Macy very important later in the story.Bai Ling,admittedly brief appearance, but makes its appearance because it has the ideal physique for this role.Etc ... But now, my rating is 6,since the passage in prison, although somewhat justified me out of the film.

Edmond a kind of movie I would have loved watching anytime. David Mamet did an excellent job depicting the reality and troubles, an ordinary man has to face. It looks so close to reality where everything showed appeared true. Edmond is a story of simple man Edward Burke who left home on account of his boring life to seek some manly pleasure but end up getting bugged everywhere he went. Even after trying he failed to get himself out of the mess which eventually made him loose his nerves. The movie is quite sexy and passionate .But what I liked most about it was the question that Edmond put up..& his views about how human race is living,as he encountered the harsh world & very much are those questions make sense though they may seemed to be associated with some philosophical theories. William H Macy again showed how natural his acting is! In short, Edmond is really an impressive movie but I would confess that its equally shocking and disturbing as well considering it is quite near to the kind of world we try to survive in...
