A mythic motorcycle tale of father and son", this is the story of Manuel Galloway, also known as "the King of Cali", the president of a motorcycle club whose members are all African-American men, mostly white-collar workers who exchange their suits and ties at night and on weekends for leather outfits and motorcycle helmets.

Going for the Fast and Furious dollar, Biker Boyz is set in the Black community in Southern California. The vehicle of choice is motorbikes. We follow Kid (Derek Luke) the young motorcycle racer who wants to be 'King of Cali' the title held by Smoke (Laurence Fishburne) who is the leader of the Black Knights bike club.Smoke is reluctant to be challenged by the Kid and in response he starts his own club, the Biker Boyz as he sets out to be the fastest urban biker around. The film deals with racing camaraderie and rivalries as well as delving into father and son issues in a formulaic way but the racing scenes were insipid. It left me open mouthed to see how flatly they were filmed.

Biker Boyz is a film that is great despite its numerous flaws. The film is built using thousands of clichés and stereotypes untrue to the real world of street racing. However, despite its many flaws, which are numerous and obvious the films spirit is maintained and despite its poor score on IMDb viewed in the right way this film is incredibly good. There's a tendency to view a film coming out of the black community based on a mainly white area of life as poor before the film has even been watched. There's reasons for this and many films doing this are right to be critically panned. Some of the acting in the movie is poor, and whilst the plot is clichéd for the genre and the crew didn't do themselves any favours by not accentuating the emotional points of the plot, the film is still a solid and emotional drama. I gave this film 7 out of 10 due to the empathetic acting of Kid and Smoke (Fishbourne turns in a great performance) and hope that potential viewers aren't put off by the poor rating that it has received.

I think this movie was good. It had a pretty good story line and the actors are fun! I would say watch it... it has potential, there should be a sequel. Laurence Fishburn is a great actor and it is nice that the boy is trying to be like his dad. This is definitely a movie for mature audiences only because you have to be mature enough to understand the plot and follow the story, it is not one of those "teen" movies. It is a great movie to watch if you are not afraid of bikes and death, but if you are and if you can't understand deep stories, this is not the movie for you! If you can handle it, sit back and enjoy this movie, and oh yeah, Kid Rock kicks butt!!!

BIKER BOYZ is probably the stupidest movies that I have ever seen to come out in the past 15 years. It is sort of like THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS for idiots on bikes. It features awful acting, and I cannot believe that Laurence Fishbourne would decide to make a movie as bad as this garbage. Even though it could have been a 15-minute movie of bikers doing cool tricks and racing, it is dragged out into a 2-hour brainless movie. To fill up time, they attempt to fill the movie with other "serious" plotlines, but they are just pointless and dumb. Some of the special effects are very cool, but they are also pretty unnecessary. Some might find this movie offensive, but the language is usually "unaudible" at times, and others who are not familiar with "street talk" might be confused. The one good part of this movie is the beautiful Meagen Good, who also starred in COUSIN SKEETER. 0 stars.
