Neighbor (2009)

The first 28 minutes of this movie consist of little more than boring nobodies gossiping about their meaningless lives. I was about to switch it off and give it a one star rating think it was just some stupid college age horror comedy.The motives for the protagonist in this movie are completely pointless. Is it rape revenge? Does she have something against the people she tortures? Does she having something against society in general? The answer to all three is no. Its just torture for the sake of torture.And then there's those awful jumps in time that only serve to confuse matters, then to make matters worse we discover half the things that happen are just dreams.There seems to be no plot to this movie whatsoever up until right near the end when we discover that the protagonist is in fact an escaped mental patient.I really didn't care who lived or died in this movie as they were all shallow wooden people. In fact as I was watching I kept checking how much time it had remaining to see how much longer I would have to suffer. I very nearly switched the movie off midway through, and it would've been no great loss if I did.

Don (Campbell) is a young music producer who thinks his friends band is about to become big. He plans a huge party to showcase the band in the upscale suburban neighborhood he lives in. The fun is quickly ruined as a disturbed woman (Olivo) enters his home and kidnaps him. Tied to an upstairs chair, the torture begins as The Girl begins a series of gruesome tortures to Don. When friends show up, she tortures and kills them too including Don's girlfriend Elizabeth (Rooney) in front of him. Don pleads to find out who this is and why she is doing it (the audience is asking the same questions) but other than she gets off on doing it we never find out. She exits the party after her 'work' and walks down the street apparently to do it again somewhere else. Torture porn, I guess I'll never understand it and why anyone would find it entertaining but that is my problem I guess. They keep being made and this one is as sick as any others with tons of gore and slow mutilation. The disturbing scenes would possibly entertain Sadists, but this dreary torture fest is depressing and is sure to make you feel bad afterward. America Olivo plays "The Girl" as she is known, with delightful glee and some people thought some of the dark humor was effective. OK, they must see something I didn't. The fact that we never get a clue as to why she is doing it makes this film even more depressing and dreadful than other torture porn outings.

10 out of 10...THATS RIGHT-- a big fat 10! First off just to get it out of the way I'm gonna say that some of the acting could've been better. Say, the fight scenes and so on... nothing major. Now thats just about the only thing i figured could've been better in this freaking horror masterpiece. What we are looking at here in the female version of American Psycho's Patrick Bateman on STEROIDS! She is literally walking around killing everything she can get her hands on with true class! We see subtlety, deception, we simply see America Olivo being as freaking awesome as she could possibly be! Thought bitch slap was great?... watch this!! Olivo plays this very interesting character that simply enjoys inflicting pain on whatever living thing that comes in her way--- or whatever living thing that she herself puts in her way for that matter... She tortures, murders, and laughs her way through all the way through. If you liked a type of super evil individual similar to the Great Pat Bateman, then you will without a doubt love this movie! A lot of other people have criticized this film for being a bad horror and so on etc... As always I encourage you...the reader to WATCH THIS FOR YOURSELF. I'm not saying this is like a super story or anything like that which most people are apparently obsessed with nowadays. No, this is simply just a Girl...The Girl that goes about her day to day activities and they just happen to be inflicting excruciating pain upon everybody... Now doesn't that just sound like a perfect horror/slasher movie to you???... Aside from the superb content which is super great for a horror and psychological thriller movie fan like myself, Olivo's great performance in this will without a doubt make you laugh due to all the... well... craziness that takes place. Not in a bad way though, in more in a : Oh my god this horror movie is freaking awesome because is has all we want to see type of way. Again, see the film for yourself. If you are a fan of horror-- the psychological kind, you'll love this!

some guy named robert masgoriano or something put his name above the title of this terrible thing and im trying to figure out why...this is the worst piece of garbage I've ever seen. there is no story...no direction...no one can act in this...im trying to figure out why someone thought this would be a movie. its just a bunch of torture scenes one after another...it makes absolutely no sense. robert magtsronopono must be some kid whose father works for Lionsgate....that can be only way something this poorly made could have gotten onto a DVD that you can get at Netflix....i was so mad after wasting time and money on this i had to come in here to write this. honestly can someone tell me how this got made...? i would really like to know. there is no story. i think some friends got together and made a movie and the kid who put his name on the title robert mastrognio's dad or uncle works at Lionsgate and snuck this video in past the management and got it on a DVD.if you are coming in here to find reviews on this video and are trying to decide if you want to see this movie do not waste your time....it is the worst thing I've ever seen and im easy to please....im so furious i wasted a rental on this...its the worst video ever made. do not waste our time on this...!!!!!!!
