I can honestly say that watching this film is 90 minutes of my life wasted! I love The League Of Gentlemen, I love Gatiss, Shearsmith and Pemberton, but no matter how hard I try I can't love this film. Don't get me wrong, there were some funny bits. I loved the parts where the characters were interacting with the real world and their creators, but the Geoff Tipps storyline was pointless and unfortunately it ruined the film. In my opinion they should have made it as a 'special' episode instead of a movie. If they had shortened it to 45 minutes or an hour the storyline might not have spiraled out of control. I love the characters and I love the writers, but I think that they should have left it at series 3, instead of pushing the franchise until it wasn't funny anymore.Alles Klar!

To say that this movie is bad is to say that this movie isn't your type of thing, but to say it is a masterpiece is giving it too much credit, even if the people who say this are fans of the original show. This film in my opinion suffers from one thing and that is continuity errors that tie in with the series, that some fans of the show may or may not be able to ignore. The first error comes from the idea that Tubbs and Edward are back despite the face that we saw them killed at the beginning of series 3. The second is Pauline speaking to Mickey, at the end of series 3 they were married and in the beginning we see them speak but we see no sign of them being together and no mention of whether or not a divorce was involved at all. The third continuity error we see is that the vicar is back, at the end of the Christmas special we see her taken away by Papa Lazarou (excuse possible spelling error), which is carried on into the third series where we see posters outside the church with her picture displayed as a person missing poster. All in all however all the major characters are back in this film and it is an enjoyable experience for any fan of the show if these continuity errors are ignored and the film is watched casually rather than in any depth, and if you have never seen The League Of Gentlemen you will be able to watch this film without picking up on any of these errors, however if you are a fan of the show as I am myself you may want to go into this film with an open mind.

I originally watched this because I thought it was going to be the sequel to the League of EXTRAORDINARY Gentlemen and this movie is a whole different thing entirely going on here-a comedy! However, I loved it anyways! The League of Gentlemen is apparently some British TV series with some rather odd characters and some sharp humour. This is British comedy so it revolves around being very silly, dressing up in costumes and making lots of fun of Germans and french, homosexual references- in short it's very very funny!THe plot revolves around the writers of the TV show deciding to cancel some of the characters and the characters coming out of their dimension into the writer's dimension to stop that from happening. It's a fun twist and there's plenty of great scenes in this idiotic adventure. I laughed out loud numerous times and applauded the brazen style of humour. This makes Mr Bean look like the watered down wimp he is.(Rowan is much better in Black Adder series btw)This is not Monty Python, but you can never escape the comparison when you are talking British humour, and there are a few similarities but not so many as to keep it from being it's own thing and being fresh. It leans more towards the young ones and Guest House Paradiso in its' comedic style. If you liked this, check out The Young Ones series and Guest House Paradiso movie, and of course, I assume the TV series League of Gentlemen must be rather funny as well.

I was a big L-o-g fan until the 3rd series, which was awful. And I thought they might be able to redeem themselves in the feature length film. But I honestly did not laugh even Once, neither did the other L-o-g fans I watched it with. It had a Pathetic plot, and a pointless unfunny script. Everything about it was absolute drivel. And why have two of the not so funny characters as the leads. The film is completely boring, they don't push the boundaries of comedy like they used to. This is most definitely not a comedy film as there is not a laugh in sight. One of the worst films if not the worst I have ever had to watch. But I still love the 1st and 2nd series a lot. Shame they lost the plot after that...Will the league of gentlemen ever be the same again.. Doubtful..
