James Belushi and John Ritter star in this 1987 action-comedy. A CIA agent, Nick (Belushi) is sent on a dangerous mission to work with insurance agent, Bob (Ritter) who looks exactly like an agent that was killed. They have to get to Washington D.C. by Friday for an exchange with UFOs. They have a map guiding them and a glass to fill with water for the space men. Along the way they meet weird women, face Russian agents and other agents dressed as clowns. Nick and Bob get off on a bit of a rough start, but become friends who work well with each other. I've always liked this film and James and John were great together. I recommend this good 80's action-comedy.

How bad is this movie? When it appeared in the video stores only a few weeks after flaming out in theatres, I remember they had a big cut-out of the duo handing from the roof of the local video store.I turned to my friend, who had seen it with me, and stated rhetorically how bad it was. He didn't remember the movie. It took several minutes of explaining the "plot" before he remembered seeing it with me.It was *that* bad. So bad that it not only erased itself from your memory as you walked out of the theatre, but put up active blocks to prevent you from remembering it, just in case. What is that bad? Everything! The acting is utterly hopeless, the action scenes poorly scripted, dumb dialog, jokes so overly-telegraphed that Mel Brooks would blush, and an absolutely moronic plot that I suspect the writers thought was oh-so-clever.Then there's a shoot-out, the end.Uggg.

Real Men! A classic among comedies! Absurd yet undeniably compelling and original! Ritter and Belushi are a perfect coupling, combining chalk and cheese, as it were, yet it turns out to be one of the best films of the 80s! Belushi is so condescending it's almost unreal and Ritter gives a delightful performance as the paper pushing loser who discovers his inner strength yet never takes himself too seriously. The first time I saw this film I thought it was brilliant and my opinion of it has improved over repeated viewings. My favourite scene is this; A war between east and west has occurred. The streets of a small American town are littered with Russian agent's, victims of hot shot CIA agent Nick Pirandello and his trusty sidekick, Bob the man with the dangerous index finger. Gunfire echoes around the house where nick and bob shelter themselves from the remaining Russian's bullets. Suddenly, all goes quiet. Bob turns to nick and asks "What's going on?" Nick looks at his watch and says "Coffee break!" It would seem the Russian's relentless pursuit of the alien rendezvous map was to take a temporary back seat in favour of their hard earned worker's rights! This is but one scene from the film, which is replete with funny bits. I was sad to hear of the passing of John Ritter. God rest him.

Very funny from beginning to end! I watch this movie over and over and enjoy it more every time. It's great to see the friendship and bonding develop between Belushi and Ritter as the movie progresses. And just when you think they have finally bonded, Ritter will make a run for it. and Belushi will convince him to stay. Some of the best scenes are when Ritter finally realizes his purpose, and the skills he has learned, and puts them to work, and when he finally realizes his mission and takes it seriously. This movie is not only funny but also filled with lots of action.Watch for the scenes with Belushi's "dad" and when Ritter clobbers the milkman.
