Guru (2007)

'Guru' is a movie which holds its inspiration from Hollywood movie 'The Aviator'. It is however based on life of Indian Business Tycoon, Dhirubhai Ambani. I would say it to be as a better movie, as compared to Hollywood version which was based on life of Howard Hughes.Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: Merchant trading place, village scenarios, blooming romance, beauty of Ash, relations worth keeping, etcetera, everything has been captured well (4/5).Tone: A man decides that now he will not work for anyone but establish his own business. He does that, he goes through many obstacles, finally succeeds which captures the tone nicely (4.5/5).Music: Music is good (3.5/5).Acting: Acting is very good (4/5).Final Verdict: It is worth adding to tour DVD collection [(4/5) (9/10)].

Mani Ratnam's 2007 super-hit 'Guru' is easily one of the best films of all-time. The Veteran filmmaker makes a biopic on the late millionaire Dhirubhai Ambani in the most interesting, gripping manner. I loved 'Guru' from start to end. A fantastic watch! Performances: Mithun Chakraborty is fantastic. He's truly a Legend. Abhishek Bachchan is excellent. His careers finest work. Aishwarya Rai is very good. Vidya Balan is good, ditto for R.Madhavan. Arya Babbar excels in a brief role. Manoj Joshi is efficient. Sachin Khedekar and Darshan Jariwala are note-worthy. Arjan Bhajwa is okay. Malika sizzles in her song.'Guru' is an excellent film. Two Thumbs Up!

Guru is a story of a great man in the corporate world of India! His ups and downs in his life span! It was clearly acted by bollywood finest cast actors: Abhishek Bachan, Aishwarya Rai, Mithun, Vidya Balan and Madhavan. A fantastic film! Great material from India in a long time now!When it comes to the actors, Abhishek play the role of his lifetime, to describe in one word: BRILLIANT! He has really matured in his acting skills! Aishwarya Rai plays the supporting wife! Her performance is actually effortless! She suited well playing an ambitious simple village girl (it didn't hurt that she was damn gorgeous!).Other actors who impressed me were Mithun and Vidya balan, good in there own right. Mani ratman who is a great director didn't disappoint this time by extracting great performances and making a memorable movie with great tracks too from A.Rahman. Mine personal favorite was tere bina, which is centralized on one of the most celebrated couples in India. A great movie with great performances! A must see by all!

OH well this movie has everything to offer one can imagine.....good acting, good songs, choreography etc.This movie is about guru who wants to become a big business tycoon.... he marries ash and goes to mumbai to ful fil his dreams.....he becomes a big industrialist from a poor villager .......... he earns the favour of the people but this does not last too long and is soon declared as corrupted all because of the newspaper runned by mr chakarboty who points his needle against him for spreading corruption.....there he realise the hardships that one has to face but finally with his effort starts up his own industry of textiles and faces a lots of hardships in future as everybody stands against him considering him corrupted....... This film has everything to offer especially the performances.... HAts off to the actors who threw mighty performances in this flick...... this was his best ever logical performance especially his power packed speech in the end which makes everyone clap........... ash also for the first time threw an impressed performance and gives a sign in improvement of her acting... the songs are also beautifully composed in optimistic backgrounds... overall this film is a GOODIE!
