I watched this movie for Alicia Silverstone, that's it. I ignored the bad reviews, and decided to give it a look. It tries to cover up the lack of story and budget with an ambitious artsy style that doesn't do the movie any favors. They try to act like it's a thought provoking film that is really deep, but they made it really boring. It also throws in plenty of erotica that fails to stimulate or arouse. There is nothing scandalous in this movie. For starters the movie is shoddily written, and we aren't given nearly enough background on the sisters. They are the focal point of the movie, and I felt nothing for them. They rarely go out of the house, except for immature games and to go shopping. We get some lazy flashbacks of their childhood without any thought or care for the viewer. The flashbacks involving the Father explain why they are like this, but not to the extent I needed. Every character in this movie irritated me. Alicia Silverstone's performance is fine, but her immature and imbecilic character annoyed me to no end. She felt like a spoiled little thirteen year old. Sienna Guillory's manipulative character is decent, as is her performance, but she is also childish. I wanted to backhand her sometimes, because of her selfishness. The sisters are supposed to be very close, but they don't have any chemistry at all. Joe Anderson comes across as a poor man's Jared Leto. He even looks like him. His character is very hard to relate too, and he annoyed me just as much as the girls with his womanizing character. Not only was I bored senseless with the dull storyline, but it left me feeling extremely cold. The ambiguous conclusion renders the movie otiose with plenty of unanswered questions. Final Thoughts: What a mess this was from beginning to end. The storyline is as phony as the people in this movie. I think its great Alicia tried to do something this provocative, but she should learn to pick better scripts. Who on earth would wanna spend time with these people? Not me that's for sure. It doesn't know what it wants to be, avoid it.3/10

We rented this movie in hopes of watching something entertaining, instead we found that we had rented a flop. It was like watching a B rated movie on an A rated budget. The plot was somewhat perplexing. As I write this 14 hours after the movie, I am still unsure as to what I saw. The movie is full of psychosis. I am still unsure as to whether some of them were ghosts or just figments of their imagination. On the plus side, I felt that Alicia Silverstone played her character well. She seemed to come across as a lady with complex issues. Joe Anderson did not come across well though. I felt that he left much to be desired. I do not recommend this movie.

Silence Becomes You was most likely one of the worst movies that I have seen of all time. The cast did a wonderful job, however the plot was confusing and not very entertaining. The picture and quality of the movie overall was good, however the messy plot, and the confusing events don't make up for the time I lost watching the movie. If the events weren't so scrambled, and more was explained, I feel the movie could have been a hell of a lot more interesting. I watched the movie, sadly, three times, just to understand the little bit of sense in which I made of it, and honestly, the only way I would ever watch this movie again is if I were to get it for free, or if I was locked in a windowless room for the rest of my life with nothing else to do.

Yes I am the type that reads the back of the DVD case but I never expected what I didn't get. I loved the images of the twisted fairy tale but, the movie seemed like someone had yanked a page out of a Gothic teenagers dreams. I did not understand what the title had to do with the story. It seems that the writer of the film scammed some imagery from Francesca Leah Bloch. This movie seemed to have jumped off the twisted pages of this woman's retelling of fairy tales in modern day terms. All the princesses are schizophrenic and the princes are handsome, screwed up and bipolar. Good luck if you can make sense out of this hodgepodge of victorian furniture, hippy rags and twisted sisters. Toward the end I did begin to understand the older sister and the description of obsession on the back of the box.
