The title of this film presumably refers to the heist that goes disastrously wrong when professional thief Ritchie (Stephen Dorff) and his Russian cohorts run into some seriously messed-up characters, but it could just as easily be describing the manner in which every almost every aspect of this film has been handled. From the abysmal acting, to the dreadful dialogue, to the 'stylish' direction, ill-advised editing (including speeded-up Benny Hill style action), and pathetic attempts at off-beat humour, it is all seriously botched!Clearly, director Kit Ryan's intention was to create a totally bonkers cult comedy/horror that would become a midnight movie favourite amongst fans of insane cinema; his script, however, is woefully free of either laughs or scares, the zaniness feels incredibly forced, and virtually everyone on-screen gives a thoroughly cringe-worthy performance (with some of the worst Russian accents you're ever likely to hear!).Admittedly, the film does deliver quite a bit of fun gore (a bloody decapitation, a man cut in half, lots of mutilated bodies and assorted internal organs), and actress Jaime Murray is rather lovely to look at, but none of this changes the fact that Botched is a thoroughly inept and irksome mess—an embarrassment for all involved.

I was at my friends place when he told me that a person he knows had recommended this movie to him and that we were to watch it. I asked him what movie it was and he told me its called Botched but knew nothing else about it,he had been told not to look up any info about the movie just watch it. So we watched it and i thought it was hilarious. My guess is when looking at the movies rating that this was not the way most people went in to this movie blind so to speak. You will first get the sense of a regular crime movie which escalates into a insane, hilarious and unpredictable film which was for me a movie that would not be easy to just forget about :D . I can imagine if i would have looked up the film online and read about it first or watched a review i would not have enjoyed it as much.I wonder why one does not view movies this way every time completely blind. But for some reason one always have to read or hear a opinion about the film before deciding to watch it.This time when i watched it blind it was one of the greatest movie experiences i ever had.

After lots and lots of bad and all over crappy movies I had very low expectations for that one... Well after I made it past the first 15 minutes of that movie I went from surprises to surprises... Lots of funny moments ''you have went hysterical! I'm now going to slap'' that line made me laugh and it would have been enough to make me like the movie but they added some more fun and unexpected stuff... The viking looking villain was very unexpected and cool (yeah I have a thing for dudes who look like that and it made the movie a whole lot more enjoyable for me), the Jesus freaks who turned out to be Satan freaks etc etc. Oh and for a change the blood was realistic I'm so not used to it I was impressed! This movie really left me wanting more!

I gave this movie a 1. Only Because that's as Low as the scale would go. If I could I would have given it a -10. It started out fine and then took a turn for the Worst quickly and it was ALL Downhill from there. I recognized Two actresses from their other work. Jamie Murrey and Bronagh Gallagher I can only determine that whatever Stephen did , they also did. Or maybe someone has Pictures of them doing Unspeakable things that they were afraid would be leaked to the Internet so this is their Blackmail Payment. I rented this movie because of the Tag Line I read on the DVD. I also think Stephen Dorff was Great in Blade. He seems to be a pretty good actor so one has to wonder how he got talked into this fiasco. i understand the Other actors incentive. they need the work. But Stephen?? What were you Smoking??? And Please don't tell me this film is anything else but Bad Bad Bad Movie-making. The Plot, Acting, Special effects....EVERYTHING ...were so below what a B movie is that even a Bad B movie was more fun to watch than this. It was a Horror picture alright. A Horror to watch..
