Good Indian movies are pleasure to watch, since they are extremely well made comparable to American or Italian movies. They always have a message to be taken to the next generation. But in the last five years or so, they are being brainwashed by these non Indian Suvvar rats, who have come illegally from the neiboring country, who have no respect for Indian culture or tradition and these scums were born to scums and they have taken the Hindi movies down the toilet. Their movies have toilet humor and gutter themes made for the sole purpose of making fast buck for these banchods who should go back to the sewer where they came from and stay there. Good producers and directors can't compete with this banchods or stoop down to their level, hence the good movies like "Banaras" are few and far apart. The majority of Indians are ashamed of these maggots, who are on the top because they are promoted by the Suvvar Rats of the Media who are also born to Rats. This is a movie that is a glee to watch. The cast is commendable with a good piece of acting by Urmila As Shwetambari. The story is not contrived but down to earth. This movie has a message of love and respect for the higher being. Ashmita Patel has the serene look needed for the part. Benares is the religious capitol of India that people from all walks of life come to purify their soul.

But otherwise what a wonderful film. Obviously a low budget film with low production values but these were not required in the film. Purely dependent of performances and the beauty of Hindu or Indian spiritualism, a totally spellbinding film.Naseer ji were exceptionally good, although for him it was probably and easy task as he is so talented. Urmilla again proved that she is not just all beauty. She can act for sure. She proved this in Pinjar for me and again in this film.Even Ashmit acted very well. The music was just heavenly. I found myself, at many times, with tears in my eyes. Mainly because of the spiritualist inner feelings that i was having.Indian cinema need more such films. This film was totally and totally Indian in ever aspect. The only bad thing in the movie was the choppy editing at places but I am sure they had their reasons for it.On the whole, a wonderful concept of a film!! Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

If you want to watch a movie which satisfies your mind and soul instead of meaningless entertainment provided by the popular bollywood directors watch this movie. Urmila plays shwetambari a brahmin's daughter who falls in love with an orphan ashmit. Her caste conscious parents initially reluctant agree for the proposal. But much to the shock of urmila, ashmit is killed a day before the marriage.A shattered urmila leaves banaras only to return years later to see her ailing father for some surprises(for the viewer). This is no ordinary love story the mystic undertone of the movie will leave you spellbound, cannot be written in words.Great performance by Urmila !! The beautiful photography and visuals will make you want to catch the next train to Banaras.

I had preservations about the movie.i had read opinions of critics about the movies before seeing it and they were not very encouraging.so i started watching the movie with a cynical attitude and maintained it till the first 10 minutes.but then!!!!!!whew!!!!i was overwhelmed.the dialogs-the acting-the direction everything was superb.of course the dialogs were a little difficult for masses, but then good films are never meant for masses.the acting were tremendous.neither ashmith nor urmila are bad in acting.ashmith is very impressive concerning his experience.urmila acts a little bit typically in the traditional love scenes and dance situations, but she acted so superbly in the other more complicated scenes, that she must be forgiven for the trifle.really, according to me urmila has great potentiality and should be given chance to use and develop it in more art films.naseeruddin shah,in a very mystic role, remained as zestful and as fresh as ever, dimple who got very few chances to show her talent, showed it with a vengeance in one or two scenes, and made her appearance special.raj babbar's acting was astonishing.from a loving father to a dying hopeless man,he portrayed the sheds of his character very beautifully.i will be really upset,if he don't get at least a nomination for his stupendous acting. same may be said to the underrated charismatic Ms Matondkar.honestly, the script was faulty at times, but then everything can not be perfect, except rare cases.the music was classy,so was the direction.lastly,my verdict of the film is,though not a masterpiece,it is surely an excellent film with a fresh concept and dedicated efforts and has encouraged the so called different flow of bollywood, with a very rare clean treat.its a must for people who like to explore life, and are not too cynical.some things may seem overrated, like baba's story, but overall it will be worth watching for those,my guarantee!!!
