American Satan (2017)

I've never been inclined to write a review before until I saw all the terrible and undeserved reviews others were giving this movie. Like, back off pseudo-Eberts. It's not like this film was gunning for Oscar contention so maybe calm down with the criticism. Was the movie perfect? No, but it was still very watchable and I actually enjoyed it. As someone who has sat through some absolutely terrible movies with acting that makes me cringe in embarrassment and pity for the poor soul fumbling around on screen, I can say with certainty this is not one of those films. Unless you are going in with unreasonably high expectations, I don't think the average viewer will be disappointed. More importantly, as a bigger fan of music than film, the soundtrack and American Satan album are stellar. Not gonna lie, if the Relentless were a real band, I'd probably be a groupie. I also can't understand the hate around Andy Biersack not being the real voice behind the music. The director didn't want people to think of Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides. He wanted people to connect with the character Johnny Faust. I applaud this decision and think it worked well. tl;dr...don't trust the bad reviews this movie is totally worth the watch. Oh, and buy the soundtrack and album.

I think this movie is very entertaining.maybe it was better to make the story about a real metal band, but on the other hand,i do not think that the devil cares too much about who he can influence.as long as he can make his deals.the modern look on the faustian deal is good and if one does not take it too serious it is a nice movie to watch.there are so many stories about who was influenced by the devil.from bowie to the mamas and papas and the cast of Jesus Christ superstar. and many many more.just sit back, take some drinks and enjoy and it will all be fine.

I've been a metal-head since I first heard Black Sabbath; so I can't say my review won't be biased, but this movie was phenomenal. I've never been a fan of Black Veil Brides or Andy Beirsack before watching this film, however I can safely say that his performance along with the other casts simply blew me away. Whilst there were moments of typical cliches, American Satan captures the essence of heavy metal LA, and more specifically The Rainbow; which has served as a home base for head bangers around the globe. Thank you American Satan for re-embracing the world of rock and roll in more than an audio medium for the masses to indulge.

Honestly I do not know why people gave this movie 5.5. The movie is great acted, well filmed and original. Personally I do not like hard rock and heavy metal, nevertheless I enjoyed the movie a lot. Obviously I do not believe that behind rock there is the Devil. Only stupid people can believe that. But this is just a movie. And cannot be criticised because of that. It will be the same than criticise an horror movie about witches because witches do not exist. The movie is very entertaining, very well acted, the music is ok also for someone like me who does not like hard rock and heavy metal and there is as well a bit of truth regarding the life of a rock band in tour. I give the movie an 8.
