ECW December to Dismember :2 years ago WWE had a good idea- a one night only PPV featuring the stars of the now defunct ECW in a special PPV event.Between the PPV buys and the sales of the DVD -WWE went ahead with a second PPV- which was fine- although it lacked the one night only luster of the first.Of course Vinny Mac felt the need to capture this buzz and manages to convince the sci-fi network to carry his retooled ECW brand.Things start to go sour- first Rob Van Dame the extremist that first mentioned the ECW One Night Stand concept and the most successful and over of the ECW champs and the ECW/WWE champ gets pulled over with pot(not a huge surprise for a grappler featured in High Times magazine). So WWE decides to strip him of the belt - and decide to import the Big Show to the ECW to be champ- this enrages the hardcore ECW fans-which leads to an infamous match in NYC - where the fans belittle the product during the main event of a live broadcast- chanting "change the channel" and "TNA" during the awkward main event of the ECW show. This all leads to this turd of a DVD- the second ECW brand PPV this year and the first utilizing the extremists of the minor league brand of the WWE corporation.Going into this PPV - only 2 matches were announced- a one night only tag team reunion between the Hardy Boys and MnM and the 6 man extreme elimination chamber match for the ECW strap. The opening tag-team match had some good spots and got the crowd into the event.Sadly things go from bad to worse- we are told that Sabu is injured and won't compete- which is fine - I guess- except he is featured in the cover art of the DVD.Either way after one match- there is a lot of time to fill-so we get a retread of what is on the ECW TV show- no special matches- just the roster full of folks that aren't charismatic or talented enough to be featured on Smackdown or Raw.After and hour plus of sub-par matches- it is time for the main event. The 6 man extreme elimination chamber- featuring crowd favorites RVD and CM Punk and Bobby Lashley and a heel contingent.Sure there are some nasty spots throughout the main event - but a match featuring a huge cage, weapons ,3 legit headliners and tons of spots- still manages to enrage the crowd so much that they are chanting "change the channel" and"TNA(a rival rasslin' league). The DVD does include extra interviews and a rematch between 2 of the wrestlers the following Tuesday. Not worth getting unless you are a collector or masochist. Sure, this may have had maybe two decent matches. The Hardys defeating MNM was cool, but it does NOT belong on an ECW ppv. The elimination chamber match had to have been better than that crappy one at Survivor Series '03.Sure, I think Ariel is ultra hot, but does she make me want to go out and actually buy this garbage? I think even if I got it for free, I'd give it away to someone else. The two ECW One Night Stand ppvs were awesome, with '05 being the better of the two, even though the DVD version is a total abomination. If you're a real fan of ECW, not this lame and tired WWECW garbage, then you'll avoid this like the plague.

Truly trulet awful. This event was one of the worse WWE have ever put on. I just can't believe Vince McMahon let it happen...then again this is the man who gave us King of The Ring 1995 and the World Bodybuilding Federation. It was just terrible beyond belief. Living in England I got this for free on Sky Sports so I stayed up to watch it...how terrible a move it was for me. OK so after match one The Hardyz vs. MNM which was a poor effort from both teams (but turned out to be the best match of the night) expectations were not so high. I was hoping that the main event would be good as my favourite wrestler is Sabu. Oh hang on whats this.... Sabu is injured....and who's his replacement....Not So Hardcore Holly. I respect Holly. I think his comeback from a life threatening illness was very brave of him but that dosen't make him a good wrestler. OK next match. Matt Striker vs. Balls Mahoney in a Strikers Rules Match. Strikers Rules basically means crap. Mahoney won in a poor match. This was followed by 3 awful matchs Sylvester Terkay and Elijah Burke def. The F.B.I., Daivari def. Tommy Dreamer...awful the worst...then Kevin Thorn and Aerial def. Kelly Kelly and Mike Knox, all four fighters looked terrible. Paul Heyman came out and put on a brave face for the cameras but you could tell he was gobsmacked at how crap it was. Finally the Extreme Elimination Chamber which turned into the RVD Show. He was third eliminated and it just went downhill from there. Winner and new ECW Champ Bobby Lashley. Paul Heyman looked gutted and disgusted and it looked like he meant it and it just wasn't for kayfabe. Shocked and appalled at the new ECW Heyman walked out on WWE the next week. Good on Paul. ECW hopefully will be cancelled in the next month or so. It so bad...

Wow. What a show. I still can't believe this happened. "ECW" December to Dismember December 3,2006 Live on PPV."ECW" is on. The first PPV to the new "C" show is here.Spoilers ahead******First Match: Hardys v. MNM: This is a good opener. The newly reunited Hardys have been on a roll with the tag team division lately. We also see the reunion of another great team of MNM. This match went on for at least 25 minutes. Both looked really good and had a solid match. The length of the match might have turned off the crowd, but in the original ECW, this would have been a showstopper. Awesome. Hardys win clean.Second is Balls Mahoney v. Matt Striker: This is declared an UN-extreme rules match. And boy was this UN-extreme all right. I can't understand the dichotomy of Balls Mahoney in a match without a chair shot. Dead crowd. Bad match. Get this: Sabu is "Injured" and can't compete in the chamber match later. Inane. Sabu is so tough he once broke his jaw in ECW and taped his jaw back with duct tape and continued the match! This is stupid punishment here and it sucks.Third is Elijah Burke and Sylvster Terkay v. F.B.I.: for a squash match, this wasn't bad. Burke and Terkay are booked quite well. Burke has tons of charisma too. Too bad bout the F.B.I. being jobbers here, considering the talent level of Little Guido. Okay match. Burke & Terkay win.Oh no! Sabu is gone in an Ambulance!! Oh NO!! Lame. ECW's Evil Kenivel does not deserve this. Fourth is Daivari v. Tommy Dreamer: This was a bad match. Khali is ejected early and Daivari wins with the stupid pulling of the tights win. How WWE is that. Tommy Dreamer in ECW would have to be beaten to a pulp before losing. Dreadful. And now Bob Holly is taking place of Sabu in the Chamber. Ah, yes. The usual bait-and-switch garbage. Why Holly and not the Sandman?Mike Knox and Kelly v. Ariel and Kevin Thorne is fifth: Nothing to see here folks, nothing at all. This was awful. Knox didn't wanna tag Kelly and Ariel pinned her. Poor Thorne. He's got some talent. He needs to branch out. At least the Sandman made his presence felt tonight afterword by whaling on Thorne with the cane. First and only big pop of the night. After we see Micheal Cole plug Smackdown's Armaggedeon PPV, Paul Heymen cuts a promo. Heymen says that ECW will outlive Hogan and Flair. I wouldn't bet on that Paul E.Main Event: "Extreme Elimination Chamber Match":RVD and Holly start out. Not much of a start till CM Punk comes in with a Chair shows up. Then Test with the crowbar shows up. This is a booking mess with RVD pins CM Punk easily. CM is the first down. Who booked this??? Test then wasted Holly with a kick to the face and then BEAT RVD. Yep. Punk and Van Damn are gone. The fans looked angry. I even heard a "We want a refund" chant. I hear ya. Lashley pinned Test with a spear. Now I hear "Boring" chants. This is getting worse. Needless to say, Lashley defeated Big Slow for the title. Wait. My clock says this ended only twenty minutes after the hour??? That's it? Not only was this bad, but it ended early too. Lashley is the champ. You know the guy that was not trusted to main event The No Mercy PPV a few months earlier? Yep him. The Last Word: Atrocious. This is a huge runner-up for worst PPV of the year. Halloween Havok 91' and King of the Ring 95' have a new contender for worst of all time. This should have been renamed: "Let's Punish the Fans".
