Awesome movie with excellent songs. The first half was very good. But in the second half the film travels in a slow pace, eventually it boosts up.Songs are the biggest strength of this film.Young super star was good in his acting.Trisha was extremely ultimate in her act.Use of bad words in the second half must have been avoided to make it a complete family entertainer. The love story between them seemed to be realistic and it was heart touching when you watch it.The romantic scenes were excellent. Director Gautham Menon was awesome in his direction. The true love in a youngsters mind is clearly shown. The film would have been more awesome if the second half had traversed in a fast pace.Anyway it was nice if you watch it with a fresh mind. The movie ultimately ends in a tragedy unexpectedly which was its plus.

I am really not sure how come so many liked the movie and i just did not like the movie at all.. For a start i am not a big fan of Simbu.. so my comments could be a little biased.. Simbu's way of dialogue delivery is not like-able at all.. he has a typical way of trying to copy Kamal but it just does not work... more over it looks like he is trying too hard to act... the love story also did not have any kind of depth to it.. boy sees girl, girl sees boy.. they see something in their eyes.. and they started loving each other.. since the first time they ever saw each other.. very silly, very very silly. there were only three things that i liked. The Music is awesome.. however i did not quite enjoy the background music at some places.. they sounded a little too loud for the scene. second is Trisha.. i think she showed how mature a actress she now is.. full points to her.. she looks a little old in the movie (perhaps that was meant to be).. but she looks very elegant.. She was also wonderfully dressed throughout the movie. a third thing i liked about the movie was the camera work and visualizations for the songs. these three things are typical of Gautham's movie. However no story, really makes the movie fall flat for me.I felt the movie was longer that it actually was.. kind of gave the feeling of watching a television serial close to its climax, when the producer wants to keep extending it for few more weeks.. I certainly got bored watching.. only thing that kept me going was because i was curious to know why the movie was a hit.. perhaps there was a very good ending.. but again disappointed.

First off let me mention that this movie is way better than boatloads of meaningless movies churned out in recent times. Screenplay in first half is terrific backed by breathtaking visuals and exemplary music. ARR simply rocks. The second half drags a bit and finally there is hope for the torn lovers when 4 minutes from the end, GVM decides to change the course and end it tragically. Now I shall mention why it gets a 7 in my opinion. I am an eternal optimist and have been put off by sad ending climaxes off late. Most of the halfway decent movies in Tamil in the last 3 years...Kadhal, Kalloori, Veyyil, Naan kadavul, Katrathu tamil, Bheema, Poi, Subramaniapuram, kannum kannum (and a lot more)... have had sad/tragic endings. Why should the Telugu version end on a happier note when sad endings are thrust down upon us? My Telugu friend says Tamil directors are psycho's.When I watch a movie, I want to see the triumph of human spirit even when up against all odds (in this movie). If it ended on a positive note, the ingenious theater owners in Tamilnadu would not have had to change the climax and it would have been a bigger hit in my opinion.I think the movie is brilliant but for the last four minutes. I hope we see a change in the trend with happier endings and less violence in mainstream Tamil cinema. Life is too short!!
