A Marine named P.J. Kellogg ran 50 miles in 11 hours. He did this to raise money for a college fund for the one-year-old son of a fallen brother-in-arms. P.J. had never even met Izzy, but that didn't matter. The entire community rallied behind P.J. and gave time and money to support the cause. The run was long and trying. So Sashi introduces May to Dessy, a striptease dancer. Later, when May is sexually harassed, Andhara and Rangga come to her aid. After the incident, May’s relationship with Rangga grows closer. But Andhara learns that Rangga only wants May’s body. Andhara then beats up Rangga, who in retaliation, reports her to the police for drug possession. May’s situation deteriorates and she asks Sashi to sell her body.

The plot unfolds during a few afternoon hours on Christmas Eve. The individual stories, which at times intertwine, are set in the small town Skogli. The characters in the stories cover a great range in age and life situations, representing both reconciliation with their own lives and strong frustration. Some show the will to understand and do something about their lives, while others have given up. Deeply tragic and melancholy aspects are mixed with humour and rather frivolous solutions.

Documentary on child trafficking in Cambodia. Every year tens of thousands of young girls are trafficked and sold into slavery, sexual abuse and prostitution. We follow these girls, interview young girls that currently are or have been sex slaves and girls that have been saved from this plight and NGO employees. We ask questions like: What makes parents want to sell their children and how does the child trafficking take place? What is being done to stop the problem? The Cambodian nation is still recovering after the genocide in the seventies where a quarter of the nation was executed. The social infrastructure is in ruins and corruption is severe. One fifth of the nation is illiterate and poverty drives children to work instead of attending school. Half the nation lives under the poverty line and earns less than a dollar a day. Poor families in the remote rural areas are the most vulnerable to the trafficking and we follow the fortunes of one such family.

On the day that a benefit concert for Darfur takes place in Barcelona, the inhabitants of this city are chiefly occupied with themselves. A short-tempered guy curses everyone crossing his path. A little later, we see him at work as a living statue. Meekly, he poses for a picture with a tourist. A thief robs her purse and runs through the alleys. On a scooter, the purse is taken to a suspicious-looking character, who is primarily interested in a concert ticket he finds . After these people, we follow countless other characters. We follow them for a few streets or catch snippets of conversations. Sometimes the topic is Darfur, but usually the urbanites are engaged in their daily worries.

Joe Mondragon, a veteran cop who gets things done, forms an unlikely partnership with Samantha Baines. She is attached to Police Intelligence Division and feels more comfortable handling a computer than a gun. Samantha's computer skills are needed to help hack into and track two serial killers who get their victims from Internet Chat Rooms. The plan goes horribly wrong and in a fire fight between Samantha and Joe, and the two killers, Joe is killed when Samantha is unable to make herself fire her weapon at the two serial killers. Samantha feels guilty and responsible. With the help of her new friend Mimi, and the Head of Homicide, Samantha reinvents herself and avenges Joe after a relentless chase of the killers.
