For Those We Love
In 1943, as Japan's WWII effort falters, a vice-admiral proposes training squadrons of "volunteer" flyers to crash their armed planes into Allied warships. Yarn follows the lives of kamikaze pilots, as remembered by an aging Kyushu restaurateur who cherishes their memory. Honoring the dead and multiple military anthems may stir the soul of some Japanese, but elsewhere auds will make a one-way trip for exits. Battle scenes are well-executed and script delivers some memorable scenes, but overall competent helming and thesping are powerless over writer-cum-Tokyo governor Shintaro Ishiara's repetitive storytelling. A post-war postscript adds considerable length to an already over-extended narrative. Tech credits are good quality.

The documentary finds backpackers helping neglected Thai tsunami victims. It explains why Nepal's guesthouses are empty and Brazil's stoplights are ignored. But at it's core, A Map For Saturday tracks the emotional arc of extreme long-term travelers; teenagers and senior citizens who wondered, "What would it be like to travel the world?" Then did it.

Flesh for the king
Inspector Black is investigating a series of murders for which there are no apparent leads. The pressure from his supervisor is growing when yet another corpse is found. Meanwhile rock star Max and his manager Tom Meyer are on their way to meet a music producer. To their dismay, their car breaks down and they are forced to go in search of help. As they arrive in the closest Village they encounter a man who initially offers to help. To their horror, they later realize that they have become victims of an Elvis-obsessed psychopath. But it's already too late. The situation deteriorates, and it comes to musical torture.

It featured cookery, drinks, interviews with celebrity guests and clips from the week's television, as well as classic clips in the 'Deja View' section. The show was presented by Amanda Hamilton, Tim Lovejoy, Louise Redknapp and Simon Rimmer.

A Mirror for Alice
Alice is a normal girl from a loving family. The only problem is her grandfather, traumatized by the war and totally detached from reality. One day, the family leaves Abruzzo for a trip to Alberobello, Puglia, leaving Alice alone with her elderly relative. Alice meets her friend Gloria, and the two head into town together. However, they find themselves in the middle of a clash between cops and thugs. After the incident, they find a snake-shaped earring. The girls decide to put it on, and suddenly find themselves involuntarily attracted to evil. An adventure begins, with Gloria and Alice entering a world populated by spirits and visions.

Digging for the Truth
Digging for the Truth was a History Channel television series. The first three seasons of the show focused on host Josh Bernstein, who journeyed on various explorations of historical icons and mysteries. Bernstein is the president and CEO of BOSS and has a degree in anthropology and psychology from Cornell University. The show airs every Monday night at 9:00 EST on the History Channel. The series premiered in January, 2005 and has since become the highest-rated series in the history of The History Channel, which was surprising given the previous show "Time Titans" from the production crew never made it past the pilot. The third season premiered on January 22, 2007, with a 2-hour special event on the quest for Atlantis.
Bernstein announced on February 20, 2007, that he would be leaving The History Channel and Digging for the Truth, and would, as of April, join The Discovery Channel as an executive producer and host of a new prime-time series and specials. Hunter Ellis, host of Tactical to Practical and Man, Moment, Machine for The History Channel, then replaced Josh Bernstein as host.

Efron, diaries, memoirs and letters of their contemporaries; fragments of films from the collection of the Gosfilmofond of Russia and the Russian State Archive of Film and Photographic Documents.
