Almost didn't watch this based on the reviews on this page but so glad I did, it's an excellent piece of Shakespearean drama. The performances are excellent, Piggot-Smith is the standout, and it's satisfyingly short and efficient in its storytelling. As far as I can tell many of the criticisms either come from offended monarchists or people who didn't like the blank verse dialogue and unrealistic plot. Although I can see why these would be issues for some people, I think they are inherent to it's pho-Shakespearean nature, it's not pretending to be an accurate and earnest take on the monarchy, it merely uses them it as setting and the Royals as very loosely based caricatures. Go in expecting Shakespeare in a modern context, not a realistic drama about the monarchy.

*General spoilers ahead* I do think that Charles is the hero of the piece. He does what is right. His family, of course, are the heels of this play/movie. Kate is Lady Macbeth. Prince William is basically nothing. Harry gives up love to support his brother. It's very good.

The regressive-left producer of this trash ought to be facing a law suit for this socialist wet dream. In just the first few minutes this disgusting production sabotages everything and everyone based on regressive fantasies:Charles is shown as an Evil man who has been plotting to kill his own mother to become king and tramples over people for politics. The prince Harry is shown as a desperate loser who hates his family and clambers for the attention of a (typically, for the left) black, unemployed, socialist because he has no dignity. The prime minister is shown as selfish and attacking the media for personal reasons. Typically again, his opponent is however a saint through virtue of not being white. The rest of the British people of course are all violent, rude, substance abusers. Conclusion: Unless you are a BLM member, you'll definitely see this for what it is and fail to find anything to enjoy

the movie had potential... then it turned into a nonsense... disguised as a Shakespearean novel... but completely lacking any kind of intelligence...like written by a 12yo school girl.... it was a pain to see...my Heart Broke when the shallow low IQ sons in this "Play" did not received any kind of justice at the end... the 12yo writer did not went all the way...the monarchy at that point in the play should have been abolish and the traitors should have been betrayed. but not even the end makes sense... Don't bother with this guys...I'm saving you the time.
