A story of a big superstar and his eventual fall from grace and how it has defined not only his career but himself as a person. This film delves a deeper look from his early rise to fame to the now famous incident which has now tarnished his reputation and how we hear it from his side. Although it starts off well it starts to feel more like propaganda which to me feels like a film already too late to have been made.I cannot say too much but it is just your typical documentary which feels like it is to invoke sympathy for the disgraced singer. Being a fan of his music I felt compelled to watch this film to hopefully see a different side of him. At first it was good and fair for him to let him tell his side of the story and what happened (now we need Rihanna's side) but given all the detail and comments from other people in his life and their opinions it gave a "I know what i did was wrong but please sympathise with me" kind of vibe. I can give him credit for being aware of his actions and trying to do the right thing but it feels hard to accept any change given behaviours and incidents after that incident. Here we see interviews from other celebrities who have worked with him and seem to know him on a closer level but it seems that they are there to defend him and let the audience realise that we are human and to accept Chris Brown as a human who has done the wrong thing but a fall from grace is the only way to learn to move back up because what other way can there be to go?In the end I do see this a some kind of film that is trying to give Chris Brown some kind of redemption and a different point of view of his past behaviours. It doesn't seem to work very well as it tries too hard to make him become any bit likable as a person but we must remember that he has done his time and he is trying to turn around. The past will always be there to haunt him and people will remind him of it. Whether you like him or hate him he is defined by what actions he will take moving forward and if he's learned anything at all.I can't say it was a great film but interesting enough that I was able to sit through it all. I cannot say it will redeem himself and what he's done.Give it a chance but it doesn't feel like it will change your opinion of him as it kind of feels forced on you to.

I found 'Welcome to my life' to be a fair, honest, interesting and touching story! I thought the soundtrack, editing and general production of this film was perfect. I commend Chris for opening up about his personal life and for being real about it. Some of the reviews here are way too harsh and I think their authors would do well to take a long hard look in the mirror. If you appreciate authenticity then this is the documentary for you! Chris brown DESERVES a break and after watching this documentary I hope he gets exactly where he wants to be :)

This documentary is 6 years too late I'm going to break it up into parts and add a little background info. Chris Brown and his team are highly confusing and that's putting it mildly the only thing this documentary does is give a bit of background info on his life that honestly if you truly cared to know you could piece together easily. So here we go.1: Chris Brown talks about his abusive stepfather in depth how he was abusive and crazy to the point that he shot himself in the head yet he didn't die which made him even more psychotic and further traumatized Chris.2. Chris Brown talks about the 09 incident with Robyn Fenty aka Rihanna and also gives us background info on how they met and also let us know that they were hitting and abusing one another beforehand because of Browns infidelity which makes sense they were both teenagers and both came from similar backgrounds of abuse in the home. He talks about how his honesty led to Rihanna physically abusing him she also initiated what happened that night and that being the first time he struck her with a closed fist, he had slapped her back and restrained her in previous altercations and they would talk about it afterwards vowing to never hit each other again yet lied to the whole world about her involvement.3. He talks about the incident on GMA with Robin and how he didn't throw a chair through the window he punched the window out of frustration, his time in jail and he briefly talks about his "relationship" with karrueche tran and about his daughter Royalty. -The end. Here's why I state it's pointless and too late the time for Chris Brown to defend and tell his side of the story has long since passed though its true Rihanna gave her blessing for him to tell his side of the story it's too late he should've held her accountable then but no he allowed her to lie to everyone and make us believe that she was blameless and not hitting him as well for reasons why I don't know and now with his recent ex gf ms. tran accusing him of the same thing which is abuse was granted a restraining order because he chose not to show up and defend himself and I highly doubt that he will file an appeal, a defamation lawsuit, a gag order and his own restraining order because it seems to me that Chris Brown thinks that being a man is about being macho and he's too ashamed to admit that women have hurt him whether it be physically or emotionally, he hasn't learned anything from his past decisions and I doubt he ever will. He is a creature of habit and a victim of circumstance it's been 6+ years and he's still in the same place mentally and emotionally smh.In conclusion I would've actually liked to know the real Chris Brown and find out what his thought process is when it comes to defending himself and overall life decisions, he's a really charismatic, really talented, lovable guy I can tell he's not a psychotic or a bad person and that he really doesn't want to be hated by people but he's not making wise decisions he's not learned and the only thing this documentary shows is why he is the way he is now (bitter and angry) and sadly I don't know if he'll ever be that 16-19 year old guy (personality wise) that we once knew that seemed like the real Chris Brown idk who this impostor is but I hope he disappears soon. Perhaps we will have to wait for Welcome to My Life 2 to see that.

This is the film that Team Breezy has been waiting for. Team Breezy already knows that Chris is a good guy, just crucified in the public eye, so if you're a big fan, like me, you might not learn anything new from most of this film. Everything in this is fascinating, and all his haters should watch this, and maybe they'll see him in a new light, and be ready to give him another chance. This is a great film, I loved it, the interviews are really interesting, and you should see this film. Fan or not, you should watch this.
