If we could've stopped at a corny American song about Christmas shoes, perhaps the world would've have been a slightly happier place. Instead, someone decided to put time and effort into making 100 painful minutes of heart- and stomach-wrenching film to depress us even further. From the agony of seeing a family torn apart on Christmas Eve to the general sense of doom and sadness in the surrounding community, "The Christmas Shoes" is crammed full of uniquely American sentimentality that requires a strong stomach and some even stronger tissues. Why anyone would consciously put themselves through this over the holiday season beats me.The film's only saving grace is as a reminder of what's important in life. To a certain extent, the lessons are brought home more forcefully because of the Christmas setting, so in this regard the film is a triumph in heart-string manipulation. As for those horrifically ugly red shoes, well... what was the wardrobe department thinking?

Wow. That is one word I would use to describe this film. It is so touching, and meaningful. There is so much more to the story and it can touch the heart of any. I think most people would cry when watching this film, even men. It's obviously not the happy Christmas film that most people sit down to watch. Instead, it is a sad Christmas film, but still such a joy to watch. I think those who can relate to it will find it even more moving than others. I really would advise people to watch this film; it will give you a new perspective and outlook on life. This film should have much more publicity because it has such a good lesson for us to all learn - to appreciate life and everyone we love.

I loved this Christmas movie, and it was very enjoyable to watch with my mother. I recommend watching The Christmas Shoes, especially with your family, as it is a very cute, yet sad, story about love and families. It is a great movie for the holiday season and displays the importance of it with an amazing plot. The characters are very lovable and are easy to relate to. The acting was incredible and flawless Max Mower and Amber Marshall are perfect for the roles of two cute little kids, and their acting is very enjoyable to watch. This story really teaches us all a lesson, and along with being great for our entertainment, this movie has a a meaningful plot and ending. All in all, watching the movie with not be disappointing and will warm your heart.

I just watched this tonight and I had tears in my eyes. Wow, how can you not see the real meaning of life after watching this. Life is to short and to spend it chasing the all mighty dollar is a shame especially when you realize it can not bring a loved one back, only memories can! One can not have memories of a loved one if they do not spend time with them. This movie is a great Christmas movie and makes one realize what Christmas is really about. Sometimes the little gifts in life are the most treasured. I hope to see this movie again.
