Blah. Predictable cheese-fest. If you just want something to fall asleep to without missing anything, sure this'll work. Otherwise don't bother wasting time on this. Limited story line, obvious outcome. No thinking involved. Apparently my 'review' doesn't contain enough lines. Well neither does this movie. Go read a book or something. This really is just fodder.I mean it's not so bad as I would copy it to another drive, 'cos deleting it just once wasn't enough, it's just paste. Glue something or paint something & watch it dry. Same effect really. I was happily drinking myself to sleep & this movie couldn't keep the attention of an A.D.D. squirell. Eat more nuts. They're good for you!

Beautiful damsel Kyra (Amy Smart) comes in and hires Leo Falloon (Brent Butt) to find her missing video game designer brother Milles Severeign. The problem is that he's not actually a private detective. He's really a specialty products salesman. Ernie (David Koechner) is his friend. He's taken with the beauty and accepts the case. He finds a dead body. Kyra seduces him to continue investigating. Reese Horn (Kirsten Prout) claims to be Milles' girlfriend. The directing is strictly unimpressive TV production level style. The humor is dead panned from Brent Butt. He's not a big performer and that holds this back. In his show, he's more or less a regular nobody. He's perfectly likable but he's not cinematic enough. It's a low grade movie with some light humor.

We did not know what to expect when we rented this film last year. I'm sad and embarrassed to say that, at that time, we were not familiar with actor Brent Butt but we immediately loved him in this film! We enjoyed every second of this comedy! Brent is hilarious as the unassuming salesman accidentally thrown into the life of a P.I. David Koechner is hilarious in every movie - and a real treat as Brent's crazy best friend. After we rented this movie and enjoyed it so much, we had to buy the DVD, and we've watched it twice since then. A good comedy like this can be watched again and again. There are too many hilarious moments to even comment on. The editing is perfect and the movie moves so fast - never a dull moment! The clever writing/dialogue and Brent's narration during his detective work is hilarious! The entire cast is absolutely perfect! This film will not disappoint! The world needs more comedies like this! Enjoy! P.S. Please make a sequel, Brent!

I like all |Canadian movies. I enjoy anything with Brett Butt starring in all things Canadian. So this movie was a perfect combination of Canadian movie with Brett Butt starring in a Canadian movie. The acting of all the actors was really good. I think we have a superior talent pool in Canada. I also think that Brett Butt is very comedic. Seven more lines of text to go. If I were more acquainted with the private detective genre of the 50's, I am sure there are references to movies of this time era. The gumshoe, is the correct word I think. So he played the part perfectly. So did his friend, David Koechner. Of course the diner scene always makes me think of Corner Gas. Enjoyable light hearted fluffy entertainment. Why not?
