Megiddo: The Omega Code 2 (2001)

3.9
| Fantasy Horror Action Thriller

Stone (the Antichrist) becomes President of the European Union and uses his seat of power to dissolve the United Nations and create a one world government called the World Union. Megiddo is a supernatural ride into a world teetering on the edge of the Apocalypse. It follows the rise of a Machiavellian leader bent on amassing the armies of the world for the battle of Armageddon while calamities of Biblical proportions pummel the Earth. Though both prequel and sequel to The Omega Code, Megiddo works also as a stand alone story for anyone who missed its predecessor. For at its emotional core, Megiddo is the Caine and Abel story of the two men enamored with the same woman, raised as brothers, who grew up to find themselves pitted against each other over the fate and souls of the entire world.

Interpreting the ultimate Armagedden sourcebook of all time, this partly fictional account combines quality actors and a pretty good script along with award winning photography and special effects that hold up even in 2015.Michael York brings a Shakesperean depth to his role of Ultimate Bad Guy...the Antictheist. The seemingly Wonderful Peace Bringing leader whose mask soon comes off...and reveals him as a satanically possessed world leader!Michael Biehn is his brother who will ultimately stand against his evil brother. yes it echoes Cain and Abel! The sourcebook is the Bible...This film builds an entertaining story around the hints God provides in the ultimate sourcebook for how it will all end...and begin anew...the Bible...

Of course, this movie gets some EXTRA nasty reviews from persons who despise its message (drawn on the amazing Books of Revelation---& Daniel)! And some who are believers are uneasy with some of the movie's premises...and with some plot holes...Yet... thought "Megiddo..." was somewhat better at showing us how this evil Leader is formed...(Stone Alexander played by Michael York). We all should be giving our kids ideas of what NOT to value in a National or even World Leader. you might use these films to teach students or grade school or older kids to avoid "Dictators who Charm the Populace & then DEvastate Them!" .And if Alexander seems a bit over the top...just watch some old Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin footage. If you are a believer (or are curious)...check out the Biblical books of Revelation & Daniel...they describe the earth's end. Not easy to understand...but amazing reading.

I was hoping that I would at least see a film that was well made, and I'm not too difficult to please. Why can't the Americans ( who can make excellent films ) botch up so important a subject by getting the thing so wrong. The story was a mess, unrecognisable from the Bible account, the filming was poor and the acting half-hearted. I can only think the cast were so appalled at the script that they had to follow that they were demoralised from the start. In a country which is Christian, with a good portion of its public who know the bible, why do film-writers have to obliterate an account so powerful and replace it with something far less. Deliberately changing ( while presenting it as )the Biblical story of Revelation is something I would not wish to have to explain to God. This film I could not show to anyone...My hope was that I would be able to.

Most of the reviews here seem to be written by Godless mockers who are just trying to be smart *sses. Although in order to make it interesting the movie has added a bunch of junk about computer "codes" the movie really does seem to do a good job following Biblical prophecy. Hal Lindsey who is a well known expert on biblical prophecy was an adviser. First read the book of Daniel then read the Book of Revelation. By the way this movie has nothing whatsoever to do with Nostradamus. The Movie would have been better if the sequel "Omega code" had been bundled with it. Thats really all I have to say but since that is less than ten lines I need to babble on like the rest of the people here who want to make them selves seem important.
