In this 35-minute short film, which is a part of the Wheat universe featuring Riddick, our hero goes against a large-breasted evil female character with her very own perception of what is art and how to form it. While he is at it, he also needs to protect Jack again who is voiced by the same actress like in the movie. Riddick, of course, is also voiced by Vin Diesel and he also looks exactly like him. Huge muscle, muscle shirt and the bald head. No doubt, it's Diesel. This piece of filmmaking is now over 10 years old already. I can't give more references to the live action movies as I have not seen them, but I saw that Chillingsworth does not appear in one of them yet and she (plus her scary henchman) would certainly be an interesting addition as main antagonist to Diesel's character. Anyway, this good half hour has everything you'd expect: lots of shooting and fighting, blood and the good side winning in the end with a revenge threat from the bad guys. All in all a mildly entertaining animated short film, but I would only recommend it to big fans of the franchise.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury takes places some time after Pitch Black where Riddick and the other survivors encounter a new threat.I found the movie at a local pawn shop for a dollar and I thought why not give it a try and surprising enough I actually enjoy this more than I did "The Chronicles Of Riddick".The movie serves as a bridge between Pitch Black to The Chronicles Of Riddick.Vin Diesel reprises his role as the Anti-Hero Riddick and it's interesting to see him in animation form. We are also introduce to Toombs who makes his debut in the series in this film. Now onto the movie itself, for a movie that is only 30 minutes long it serves a lot of key points to the plot of the next film and actually was able to hold my interest for the whole time. The Animation is a hit and mess but they did some good work enough However they did impress me enough to hold my interest in the film. The Voice acting is pretty good and sold the story to the film as well.So honestly I call this the real sequel to Pitch Black in the Riddick film series. So all in all I enjoy this film and for a dollar I say it was worth having in my collection.I give The Chronicles Of Riddick: Dark Fury an 8 out of 10You're not afraid of the dark are you?

Funny enough this franchise has not kind of picked up but it is a wonderful franchise, the story of Riddick is one that all have to see and then the video game that followed the release of Chronicles of Riddick, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay was totally off the hook, I totally love Riddick. Pitch Black was a wonderful introduction to our Owl like friend who can see too well in the dark, but the movie that followed 4 years after The Chronicles of Riddick was a better movie and good follow up.Mr. Riddick here is seen in this half an hour animation that is meant to be something like a bridge between the first movie and the second. Many that saw the first Pitch Black would have been impressed as I was with the way the movie played out, as the characters were well introduced and so after the movie ended I wondered what will become of the girl.We had to wait 4 years before the makers David Twohy with the production assistance of Vin Diesel, to answer that question. After the new Riddick movie was done in 2004 this animation was also released as there seemed to be some form of hole between in the first movie and the second, so this animation was done to fill that hole. The animation style is anime, and although the animation was a little bit shaky and the story not so grand, but if you have seen the first and the second movie there seemed to be no reason not to see this one, as the cartoon showcased more of the fun of why we love Riddick and less of anything reasonable. It also focused on solidifying the bond between Riddick and Jack, which was present in the first movie but in the second many who haven't seen the first will be unable to understand why Riddick will stop at nothing to bring down the Necromongers. Here our hero (Riddick), Imam and Jack have escaped the planet from Pitch Black and they found themselves picked up by a mercenary ship where they encountered the ship's owner, Antonia Chillingsworth. She is obsessed in collecting criminals and putting them in her collection library. What she does is to capture them, freeze them and keep the frozen criminals as statues that are in her view, art. Although the criminals are frozen, they are alive and conscious. Antonia views Riddick as a masterpiece a work of art she has to have and in her desire to see him kill using his wonderful techniques of seeing in the dark, Antonia made the mistake of letting Riddick go and putting him up against some funny machinery, and that is how some series of unfortunate events led to Riddick, Imam and Jack escaping. In the end, this animation doesn't make you hate the franchise, but it doesn't make you love it either, it is not a must watch, but if you are preparing for the new Riddick movie coming out later this year you can just add it to your view list.www.lagsreviews.com

Bridging the gap from "Pitch Black" to "The Chronicles of Riddick", "Dark Fury" is an interesting enough exercise in animated story-telling. Vin Diesel, Rhiana Griffith and Keith David return as the survivors of the first installment, this time coming up against baddies of a more human nature, not counting multi-tentacled waving aliens. This is a good looking animated movie, short but containing some reasonably memorable action set pieces and some unexpectedly bloody violence.7 out of 10. Riddick fans will find this a treat but this may leave some viewers cold.
