The story is decent, but the dance sequences really are distracting. Also the final rescue mission is almost a casual sequence in the movie. They leave out the 3 passengers that died and the one Amin murdered.

I have no particular interest in either side - Palestinian or Israeli. So, five stars for the movie itself w/intelligent POVs, as well as confusing POVs. Eight stars because it exposes so many of the one, two & three star reviewers as categorical & conformational bias thinkers. To them all terrorists are bad and those they fight against are all good. So for one time a movie gives a little space to what is in the terrorist mind - thus the backlash. The treatment of Palestinians by Israel is similar to how white Europeans treated Native peoples of the Americas (not to mention Africans brought in as slaves) during the centuries of colonization. A fact check of how the lands of Palestinians have dramatically decreased w/fenced barriers & containment of culture, opportunity, movement, resources, and rights in the past 60 years has some resemblance to the reservations of the Americas. Who is dying? A fact check of the number of Palestinians killed by Israel and Israelis killed by Palestinians since 2000 also shows this imbalance (10,000 to 1200) and growing. Whomever wields the armaments, the monetary & political power will always label as terrorist those who are being slowly strangled as they fight for life, self determination & freedom. The movie closes w/the statement that no peace agreement exists between the two sides. If you have the power then you have the greater potential of creating resolution, but when does power ever want to give any up?

THE CONCEPT IS GOOD, BUT THE STORY GETS LOST IN TOTALLY NON IMPORTANT CHARACTERS, SUCH AS A NORMAL SOLDIER, HIS WIFE AND HER DANCES!. I TRULY EXPECTED A GREAT FILM SUCH AS "RAID IN ENTEBBE" WITH DETAILED PLANNING, MILITARY PRACTICE AND AN AMAZING MILITARY RESCUE OPERATION WITH MANY DETAILS. BUT INSTEAD, DURING THE MILITARY OPERATION, IT SHOWS MORE OF THIS NON RELATED TO THE STORY WOMAN AND HER GROUP DANCE PERFORMANCES OVER AND OVER, WHICH IS KINDA ANNOYING AND SENSELESS. A BIT OF THAT IN THE BEGINNING OR END WOULD HAVE BEEN OK. BUT MIXING THE ACTUAL MILITARY RESCUE WITH PERFORMING DANCERS -WHILE ARTISTIC AND GREAT DANCERS-, IT SPOILS ALL THE MILITARY ACTION AND DRAMA, WHICH SHOULD BE THE FOCUS OF THE WHOLE STORY... THERE IS ALSO BARELY ANY MENTION ABOUT THE MAIN CHARACTERS AND THE FALLEN HERO OF THE WHOLE OPERATION YONI (YONATAN NETANYAHU) , AND ALSO FAILS TO SHOW OR MENTION IDI AMIN'S RETALIATION ON THE KENYAN CITIZENS FOR THEIR SUPPORT TO THE ISRAELIS. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT MOVIE IF ONLY SHOWING MORE DETAILS ABOUT ALL MAIN TRUE CHARACTERS AND MORE ABOUT THE ACTUAL OPERATION... SORRY, BUT I STICK TO THE FILM "RAID IN ENTEBBE" OF 1976.

For the fans of movies based on true stories, this is a nice one to watch. Lead actors are doing a good role, it keeps your attention until the end.
