Full disclosure. I've never seen the Teen Titans Go TV series, we happened across this because I enjoyed the trailer and the film worked out timewise with us seeing another later in the day. (I'm also considerably older than the target audience). Disgruntled by his teams inability to be picked up for a major Hollywood picture, when seemingly everyone other hero has done, and their general lack of respect, Robin decides that the Teen Titans need an arch nemesis and settles on Slade "Deathstroke" Wilson. Thwarting one of Slade's schemes actually gains Robin the attention he desires, but will it come at the expense of his friends and teammates - and can Hollywood be trusted to do them justice. So what did I think. It was reasonably entertaining, though its funniest Meta-moments were all in the trailers. The animation was nice and the vocal performances were excellent. (Nic Cage finally getting to be Superman and Greg Davies of all people, perfectly cast as the voice of a minor villain in the opening scenes.) The songs were OK, if a little repetitive. The story was a little basic, probably geared towards the younger audience and some of the gags were a bit juvenile, again, not something I can be too critical of, given that I'm not the demographic they were aiming for. Bit sillier than I'd have hoped for, and a little too much in the trailer, but other than that it's a decent way to waste 90 minutes.

Okay before you think I'm some Teen Titans go fan boy, I'm not. I actually HATE the show. But since the trailer showed a decent looking movie with a not-so-bad story; I decided to give it a chance. This movie surprised me. It felt like they actually tried their best rather than poking fun at how everyone hates them so much. The villian of this movie, Slade, was a good villian! Some may criticize this movie for making Slade funny but, come on! You're talking about Teen Titans Go, a comedy cartoon. The songs were surprisingly memorable too! My favorite being the third song featured in this film (My Super Hero Movie). I also loved how in every song (excluding the first and last one) there was an art style switch which made the songs more enjoyable in my opinion. The ending was also great too and fairly satisfying. Also I'd like to point out that there's like 5 or 6 fart/butt jokes in this movie and the characters don't feel obnoxious. When Robin was bummed out because he couldn't have his own movie I actually felt bad for him. And also, the other Titans made a movie for Robin to make him feel better. I mean come on would you really see that in the show? I also liked the plot twist where Jade Wilson was actually Slade. It wasn't the most shocking/unexpected plot twist but it was decent. Oh, also, the action scenes in this movie are freaking amazing! Seriously! With all the beautiful backgrounds mixed with the really entertaining fights with Slade made for a really awesome movie. I recommend this movie to anyone who hates the show.Story: 8.5/10 Music: 9/10 Overall rating: 8.7/10

Let's see if the Sealers of Approval will let me be briefer than usual. This is a family-friendly flick if you have children under the age of, say, thirteen. Otherwise, it's only mildly amusing, at best. And, even then, only because of Stan Lee's cameo appearances and special guest voice-overs!**Although, I have to be honest, I initially thought I was looking at an homage to Alan "Alfred '66" Napier. The animated caricature of Stan was that bad!
