I went into this movie after having seen Warcraft, so my expectations weren't too high, but as soon as the movie started I knew I was in for something really special. This is the best Sci-Fi movie of all time and my personal all time runner up (it loses to Saving Private Ryan, but that movie is unbeatable). Clint Mansell as always delivers a suspenseful score that makes you wish he worked on more films. Duncan Jones is a wonderful director, but he shined more so in the story he crafted and dialog he created. Last, but not least Sam Rockwell delivers an unrivalled performance all actors should stride for. I would like to end this review by saying that it's best to watch this movie without having seen the trailer, since I believe it gives away too much.

This film really reflects the effects of the environment on the upbringing of a child between the two clones, they are the same person yet their release into the world gives them surprisingly different attitudes and personalities

With Mute (2018) release just hitting Netflix, it led me to the same creator as Moon. Mute, which is being bashed beyond belief and I was surprised because of the great reviews of Moon, so I decided to watch Moon first since it is so positively recieved...wrong!Sam Rockwell, exceptional job! Bravo for this vehicle showcasing his acting. But I was once not a sci-fi fan until I learned I just had really high standards when it comes to this genre. Interstellar, I loved thoroughly. I love cerebral movies and groundbreaking ones too. Something this genre is very capable of doing. See Altered Carbon. Sci-fi today as opposed to 2009 when this movie was released has changed profoundly. Now, it's all about the dystopian cyber punk sci-fi that that was created decades ago by the minds of Philp K. Dick and and adapted into movies such as Clockwork Orange, Brazil, Blade Runner, A Scanner Darkly, 2001: space odyssey, just endless epics. A groundbreaking event happened to revolutionize sci-fi TVS; Black Mirror! With an almost perfect first two seasons beginning, the audience asked for the product and more. Then someone had A brilliant idea and said let's adapt "loosely" PKD short stories and that's what the first season is trying to do. But it wasnt executed well enough and was too late. Black Mirror is displaying the less the better with episodes. Maybe the 3 originally was perfect, and PKD series has 10! Then comes along the next evolution of this genre, or revisit with a creative approach. Just like Blade Runner but totally different concept; ALTERED CARBON!!! A MASSIVE HIT that everyone will rise to catch up to. This has nothing to do with moon except for the fact that in 2018, going back to a film pre-Black Mirror, is disappointing!I'm sorry, everyone saying how great Gerdy is? Did I just watch a different film? This movie could have been much much better, but squandered the oppurtuinity. Now, I will not watch Mute and know why it has terrible reviews. This time the director and writer, Bowies son needs ground control. Please, of you're going to write a story featured in space, don't make it ordinary! That's exactly what this film is, predictable and ordinary! I gave five stars because of Sam Rockwell and Kevin Spacey has the best voice for a AI robot. I think Robin Williams would have to at the time.I'm not saying don't watch this, again I have high standards. I expect something I have a passion for to bring their A game, not half was it with a plot you can find on any writers app. Watch it if you have time to waste only!

I love Sam Rockwell's talent and his impeccable ability to make a great, outstanding performance in almost every movie he is in. So, I was even more thrilled when learned that Duncan Jones, the son of great late David Bowie, is a film director. Oh, and here is the voice talents of Kevin Spacey in use, too. Wow, I said, that's gonna be a marvelous movie. Instead, what I was treated to, was a flabbergasting drag of laughable scope, with a plot twist so trite and predictable that I nearly ate my giggle. Smirk. Come on, guys, are you serious? Are you really trying to sell me this outdated, banal stuff, seen so many times? Duane Byrge wrote: "Nonetheless, 'Moon' is darkened by its own excellencies: The white, claustrophobic look is apt and moody, but a lack of physical action enervates the story thrust." The critic felt mixed about the star's performance, describing him as "adept at limning his character's dissolution" but finding that he did not have "the audacious, dominant edge" for the major confrontation at the end of the film. Just how very true, indeed!
