Problem I usually have with this kind of movies is that they portray love and romance in a completely unconvincing way. Yes, this type of movies can be fun to watch, but nonetheless they may mislead a part of audience into thinking there is anything true about this portrayal of "love".So I wonder what exactly is the goal of Two Night Stand and similar movies? Is it only to entertain you or create a certain ethos about love, in this case illusory one. If the only goal is entertainment, then Two Night Stand does an almost solid job by generating some awkward situations in which we usually don't find ourselves. If its goal is telling something true about love, then director did almost nothing since there's nothing about it at all in this movie.OK, so a girl wants to have some fun and so makes an on-line dating account. This guy and herself hook-up for a night at his place. A snowy storm hits the city. Two of them are now trapped together for a one more night, thus having a two night stand. Of course, they had sex and talk about sex and think about sex. Both of them are, of course, adorable: Alec (Miles Teller) is funny and has great jokes and Megan (Analeigh Tipton) is a cutely aggressive, open and attractive gal. Put them together and the result is a situation in which adorable fights and romance interchange.Miles Teller (Whiplash) played this spontaneous and funny guy Alec and did a good job for a not very demanding role. Some jokes he tossed where funny but his acting wasn't. Analeigh Tipton played a worn out cutie. I don't know why every romantic comedy has to have the same female character - attractive, talkative, fun, daring, smart, hurt, totally emancipated and in love with life. It must feel great being that way. Friends of hers are so chick-flick that I won't be dedicating any space to them. Since Two Night Stand is a low budget movie with generic plot and shallow story accompanied with superficial characters, the only way it could be any good, for a romantic comedy, is if there is some chemistry among actors. The good news is that there is chemistry among Megan and Alec which furnishes a delectable atmosphere; and this is the only good thing TNS has to offer. So to conclude: if you are a mature grown up, don't watch this. If you've seen many romantic comedies, you won't see anything you haven't seen before. If you are in your twenties and don't want to get serious, Two Night Stand may entertain you (if you're serious about relationships, you'll see how warp romance in TLS is); but for everything it teaches take with the pint of the salt.

A rarity these days, "Two Night Stand" decides to spend its running time with two "young romantics" who meet for a one-night stand, not anticipating a snowstorm holding them hostage together in the male's apartment while the female attempts to endure their time together. It seems, at first, to be a doomed bit of sexual spontaneity that would end and result in the two never seeing each other again. Instead, the two young adults "talk it out", learning "tips" about their sexual hang-ups and relationship issues, sharing dialogue about where they are in life regarding a career, school, and the past that brought them to where they are. But he's concealing an important secret that could be a game changer…particularly when it seems the two are on the verge of becoming serious about one another. The two leads do what they can with a ton of foul-mouthed banter and clichéd relationship dialogue which desperately longs to be deeper than it really is. I really liked Analeigh Tipton in the film, and she gives you all the emotional details in her face, with reaction and expression speaking volumes about where she is currently stuck and wishes to be. There's that vulnerability and reluctant willingness to open up to Miles Teller (the Divergent movies) who encourages her to speak from the heart. The time spent together affords them to let down their guards and honestly talk about a bit of everything. I personally wish the film had more to say, but basically the dialogue treads the familiar and traditional routes: just accompanied by course words mixed in with shared exchanges of two "lonely-hearts" looking to connect. As you might expect, the two talk about fakes orgasms and how "the little things" (proper foreplay and slight alterations on lovemaking) are important during sex. There's focus on Tipton's decision to follow a guy to NYU to study Pre-med, eventually graduating but having no intention on working in the medical field. There's emphasis on the dregs of being single and how communication is important. Is this a sleeper for fans of young romance? I guess it could be seen that way. If anything, it dares to keep you right there with these two for almost 90 minutes before she frees herself after discovering Teller hasn't been altogether truthful with her regarding his own relationship status. Considering the two almost split firing harsh barbs at each other after a shared dialogue regarding their one night stand where sex was used as a negative weapon (and words are taken out of context) only to be trapped together by the snowfall outside the door, where the two wind up does give hope to even the toughest starts to potential romance. What I liked most about this was ultimately Tipton's charm and appeal. She's cute and has this introspective, contemplative expressiveness that feels natural and not manufactured. I think you see a character who thinks about ideas presented to her and makes observations based on serious consideration. When Teller wants to discuss a particular topic, her character gives it thought and you see that done in a way that feels so sincere. Teller, for his part, seems to have the kind of character who sees her as such an opportunity for the contender of a girlfriend. He earns her trust through "time well spent" willing to reveal his own insecurities (although he does seem a bit full of himself sometimes) and encourages her to critique him (mostly about sex). I'm not really all that high on Teller because this "cocky fratboy" emerges a bit too much for my liking. Still, Tipton has that kind of winsome appeal and personality: she should be a star if cast in the right part.

I started watching this movie on 31/12/2015 @ around 12:45 am but left watching it in the middle because I was not finding it interesting and entertaining but I gave this movie one more try and started watching it again from where I left it on 31/12/2015 around 1:35 am and completed watching this movie on 31/12/2015 @ 7:30 pm - 08:00 pm . And I'm glad that I gave it one more try and I'm not saying that this movie is great but this movie is really good and its worth your time , just hang on till the end because you will be surprised as I was by this movie. In the beginning I thought that I must not have watched this but as the movie got over , I thought that I'm happy because I watched it . It may be predictable to all of you but it was not predictable to me . It is 12:26 am in India on 01/01/2016 and It is New Year and guess what I was doing in the beginning of it, first I gave rating to this movie and at 12:04 am and again 12:05 am I received a call from My niece and She wished me "Happy New Year" and I wished her "Happy New Year" and after that I started writing my feelings for this movie which was not on "My New Years Resolution" and do not have any ( I do not know why) . This is the sixth movie for which I'm expressing my feelings in the form of review on IMDb.com and I am really glad that I did . So what I did in the beginning of 01/01/2016 ? 1) I rated this movie , 2) I talked to my Niece , 3) I expressed my feelings for this movie. For me its 8******** Stars :-) ****** Happy New Year ******** to all of You :-) Have a great time and a great year ahead :-)

Two night stand was an awful idea for a movie right from the get go, but I gave it a chance anyway. I do not stand corrected. The story is essentially about two un-ambitious, average, under-achieving young adults who find each other on the internet – have one brief conversation and then decide to meet each other for casual sex (because that's realistic, and isn't dangerous at all). Due to a freak snow storm hitting New York, they are forced to spend a little bit longer than one night with each other and are forced to get to know each and wait for it-*gasp* fall in love. The sex scenes and/or talk about sex in this movie were all awkward and frankly, embarrassing. The acting is so obviously scripted that you have a hard time believing that the actors actually believe any of the words coming out of their mouths and the whole situation is so unrealistic that even the benefit of the doubt that you would normally give to ridiculous rom-com movies like this one just go out the window. Lesson learned: if it sounds like a stupid movie, it probably is.
