Too be honest, I'm surprised I liked this, or at least was entertained the whole way through. When I originally saw the trailer I thought it was an Attack the Block ripoff. The only similarities ended up being there are aliens in both. My bad. The only thing that made me consider watching this is when I realized Richard Ayoade was in it. He's hilarious in The IT Crowd, so, watching him could make up for the movie sucking, if that were the case. This ended up being a good dumb comedy. Not rocket science but followed along on a decent plot, had some funny lines and moments, and Vince Vaughn was definitely in one of his better moments, and Jonah Hill's character complimented the group nicely. The writers did a good job of distinguishing the four characters, and the actors played those roles well. Good if you're in a light mood and just want to sit back and be entertained. If you're not a sci-fi fan...maybe try something else. If you're not into a light comedy pallet cleanser to balance out some of the deeper or more complex film / TV, definitely not for you.

An unwatchable comedy, "The Watch" stars Ben Stiller as a store manager who puts together a neighbourhood watch group. This group, populated by eccentric individuals, stumbles upon various extraterrestrial creatures, whom they proceed to comically destroy.Lazily written, clichéd and unfunny, "The Watch" once again finds Stiller wasting himself in a straight-man role. Like most modern films of its ilk, "The Watch" also mistakes "neo-realistic" acting peppered with random vulgarity as "irreverence". Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill co-star, the latter stealing the show as an emotionally unstable police force reject.3/10 - Worth no viewings.

The film was great , there were moments where there was some level of comedy. The comedy ain't high brow but still manages to make you laugh. Some moments in the film however were quite hard to watch and made me want to really skip the scene. There are a few scenes with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn where both of the actors over acted notable scenes are when the cops find them drinking bear in the van and when they find the "dead alien" and brought it back to Bobs house. Overall the movie is a movie you watch when you just want a cheap laugh and to relax as the story isn't that intricate so there is a very unlikely for someone to get lost in the story.

Of course this is a bad movie, predictable and kind of stupid, plus they kill the only non-white (except for Jamarcus I guess) character at the start of the movie but what can I really say regarding how I feel about it? it's funny and entertaining. I think what makes it so much is that all of the four main guys are so useless that you're worried about their lives yet you think they kinda deserve to be hurt because they're damn idiots like that. Pretty good movie for a cross between sci-fi and comedy I feel. As I said though, it's pretty predictable. Even one of them being an alien I could predict. At parts it was a bit cheesy but in a light-hearted way. One of those movies so bad they're good.
