The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the world’s last remaining Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, they fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum – to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae, captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to Niflheim rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination.

First of all, let me tell all those people who complain about the story, telling that it is just a trailer for the game: Yes, it might only be an introduction, and? The Star Wars universe has games that are better than the movies. Is comparing this film to SW irrelevant? I don't think so. There were reviews crying about there are only two sides. Why is that only a small group of people fights against that mechanized/robot army? Khmm.. Star Wars did the same (3 times). Only two sides? One technologically improved country conquers nearby countries, becomes the biggest and most advanced empire. There is a kingdom that has an ancient power, so it can defend itself and it's nearby countries against the "empire" who slowly annex all the remaining areas, and rule over them with a dictatorship, so there will remain two sides. Of course there will be rebellions within both sides, because of all the nations migrating into a different system and culture. So it's similar to WWs and SW. So watch this movie as an introduction to an other world, and if you are interested in it, you can read novels or watch the Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV anime series that continues the story from the last scene of the film. (so before crying that it's a game promo film, read about it, so you can find something useful) I would give this film a 8 or 9, but I rated it as 10 because there are so many brainless reviews that I got a bit angry and wrote this review. So final words: If you want a great action/fantasy CGI film, this is just perfect for you. There is a ~5 sec long scene, with a car (futuristic Audi R8) that substitute a whole Fast and Furious film in action and imagination so as it was fun as hell.

Honestly, we are not dealing with the film of the year! However, there are a lot of subtleties, the fan service is not outrageous, it is pretty well realized in the end, and the action is omnipresent. However, it should not be forgotten that this is a transmedia project that only serves as a promo to the next game: Final Fantasy XV!http://lesplayersdudimanche.com/final-fantasy-xv- kingsglaive-avis/

HOLY DAMN, An EXCEPTIONAL work from Square-Enix as always, polishing the graphic design work not one, but two steps ahead of everyone else, how detailed it is, the extraordinary effects that are more than "unreal" are absurdly real. In fact the "Lack of cleanliness" in detail was what made it so good, several times I forgot I was watching a 3D animated film.As for Story, a little out of what circulates FFXV itself, but gives A LOOOOOT of context of what the the game will be, is perhaps the best prelude I've seen for the launch of a video game, explains the past, the political situation, certain alliances, friendships, how are obtained / developed some powers, and perhaps most importantly the fight between Knights (OTRT) and Weapons (Something that is never mentioned but that goes without saying). Not to mention the plot twists, well done, not forced and understandable; it achieves it's "Rollercoaster of Feels". I personally appreciate very much the inclusion of an NPC whom I always wanted to see in HD real version (unfortunately is not purple, those who saw the film know who I mean). Finally, I suggest to all who want to play FFXV see this film. It'll be a very good idea-builder of what the game will be, those were almost 2 hours of absolute quality. As Final Fantasy Fanboy give 9.8 / 10. MUST see in Blu-Ray, the only way that quality is appreciated.

I wasn't expecting much from this film based on Squeenix's track record in film making. Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within was a fine experiment and a revolutionary piece of animation for its time, but it was far from a great film and highlighted how difficult it is to tell a complex and fulfilling story in a 2 hour time frame rather than the dozens of hours a role playing game is allotted. Final Fantasy 7 - Advent Children was another uptick in the advancement of CG and a great action piece, but it was ultimately nostalgia porn for those of us who loved the original game. Kingsglaive - Final Fantasy 15 is a leap in terms of the animation quality, all but eliminating the ability to discern between animation and reality, but it's also a product of experience. Finally, the writers, animators, producers and directors at Square Enix have acquired the experience to harness the advantages of the medium and have delivered a film that I wish I could have seen on the big screen. Not only does this movie setup Final Fantasy 15 brilliantly, it's a damn good film in its own right. It has just the right mix of suspense, action and drama and was surprisingly well written and voice acted (including an all-star English voice cast.) Watch it on the biggest screen you can and be amazed at how far Square Enix has come!
