I am a psych researcher and spent six years at the University of Connecticut Medical School studying the after effects of the Near-Death Experience. I've written 5 plus books about the near- death experience. These scenes with Woopi were so well done. Kate Hudson's acting was the best. All the emotion and spiritual aspects in this film are real to people who have died and come back to talk about it, It's not far fetched to any NDEr (near-death experiencer.) The writers did their homework. That last scene is not an usual one except for Woopi playing the role. I thought it was incredibly well done -- and I've had a near-death experience -- so it's also very real to me.

Kate does an overly outstanding job in this film. She's the bouncy, bubbly fun girl every guy or girl would love to have in their entourage. She has no cares, and all the friends she needs. The actress who plays her mother is none other than Kathy Bates! You can't ask for better.Kate goes through some really good and bad times with both her life and with her parents. When the Stuffing hits fan, you really feel, and I mean you FEEL her struggle. She pushes everyone away, until it clicks that she needs them. All the while, you truly understand and support her. It's an emotional circus ride as you go up and down. You'll laugh and cry. Sometimes at the same time. I really loved this film. Kate Hudson, Kathy Bates, Treat Williams, Lucy Punch, and Gael García Bernal played their parts remarkably. If you want a movie that is uplifting, funny, cute, sad, terrifying, ugly, hateful and beautiful, you want this one. It has every one of those aspects.Enjoy.

I wanted to watch a nice comedy movie so I picked this from my watch list. Kate Hudson, comedy.. sounds nice, I expected something cute, I didn't read the plot before watching. So it turned out to be a cancer movie.. OK,, that works for me two. But somehow, it was hanging in the middle, it's not comedy, not funny and not dramatic nor touching. Acting is bad. but you don't expect Oscar performance in a light comedy, right! .. anyhow.. most of the story looks like unnecessary load of details.. troubles with the father, troubles with the mother, troubles with the friends, love the doctor, have cancer! .. it's like collecting any problem that can come in someone's life and adding it randomly. The usual "I have cancer so I'm mean to everyone" with Kate Hudson's acting is just not catchy! .. when she tries to do heavy dramatic moments she ends up looking very unnatural and unreal. Fantasy! dreaming once and having three wishes blah blah blah .. not really fantasy but not really realistic.. Not the best massage for cancer patients. I recommend you NOT to watch the movie. If you like good quality movies or even a cute flick for fun, this is neither.

A Little Bit of Heaven. It's got romance, comedy and tears. This film gives you mixed emotions all the way through. With the amazing actors, Kate Hudson and Gael García Bernal ,who play the main characters, they do an amazing job at portraying how live is like with a terminal illness. It really does touch your heart. This film shows you that whatever happens in life you have to live it to the full and you don't take live for granted. I have recommended this film to my friends and family who have also said the film was emotional and funny. I recommend this to all of you reading this currently and I have rated this 10 out of 10. You will LOVE it.
